Happy New Year piggies!!!! And Matt and Dan and Adam! ♥️🇵🇸🫶🍉

Ian Weniger

I wish Apple sent a plaque for 50k subs so you could show it off during the show.

Daniel in utter disbelief Pennsylvanian workers could be anti-imperialist, attempts to flatter them by comparing their analysis to his beloved coastal pedophile

joancutesac

Wow it gets worse 2026 is the year I learn bad hasbara does unpaid work for the US state dept. Mamadani just facilitated the kidnapping of a South American president and you guys are STILL giving him good press, please tell me you're getting paid for this?

joancutesac

She does so in the episode too

ahhh_heyyyooorrr

Out of the loop - may I ask how Mamdani facilitated the kidnapping of Maduro?

Bad Hasbara

Yes the ghost of Allen Dulles paid us to talk about the IHRA definition of antisemitism to distract the masses from Mamdani’s imperialism.

joancutesac

Zohran's PD provided route security for the open van hostage parade of Maduro last night. Truly embarrassing you're still glazing him for free!

Lars

I missed that bit in the episode, who does he compare them to?

Bad Hasbara

You’re snout deep in the slop trough, all I hear is your disappointed gurgling.

Lars

Ok, couple a things. 1: Not that relevant to the episode, but the infighting on twitter that I have seen between the anti establishment right wingers who support the attack and those who are against it broadly follows this trend. The right wingers who are more about white supremacy as a first principle are for it, and the ones who are more about anti-semitism as a first principle are against it. 2: This ties into Graham Platner in a way I am disappointed that Krystal can't see. Graham Platner was revealed to have white supremacist views in the past at the very least, regardless of what he thinks now. (And he is very stereotypically Nordic in appearance, not saying thats the reason but still). And he has not been genuinely anti-imperialist. His main critique has been that the US overseas adventures have been failures, pointless, a waste of time, etc.. and he has advocated refocusing on China and rebuilding the military and militarism to benefit Americans instead of make them poorer. And it is on that EXACT basis that the more White Supremacist leaning right wingers are justifying their support for the attack. They are saying that it had to be done to confront and oppose China, that it was done with minimal casualties, and that this is going to be good for White Americans. In other words, the exact same framing that Graham Platner uses to justify his "anti-imperialism." It really goes to show the limits of a right wing worldview in opposing imperialism. So long as you can convince the sheeple that this time will be different, that this time we are just going to loot the place for your benefit instead of engaging in costly selfless, neo-white-mans-burden style wars, you can get a lot of right wingers to support it. Now, I know that the podcasts vibe is one of friendly and comedic news coverage, not debate, so I understand tonally not going after Krystal for saying she like Platner. But I still didn't love that. 3: Now, I am going to somewhat go against some of the people who speak out against some of the liberal zionist sympathetic tendencies of Bad Hasbara. Specifically in regards the Ephraim thing. I didn't finish the episode myself, but I have no issue with bringing people on like that. Just like I have no issue with Daniel talking about his emotional ties to his early Zionist experiences or the sympathy he still has with them. Thats a very human thing its understandable he still had, and I think people need to feel able to be honest about the inner conflicts and ambiguities they feel, and I like that the podcast isnt afraid to tackled with and talk about that stuff instead of just being a non-stop ideological purity test. BUT I do think that when it comes to stuff that is more than just talking about the conflicted feelings of the Jewish hosts or guests, and is in the realm of real actual policies and politicians, I am a little less comfortable with more moderate views. And Zohran is definitely part of that. I really do not like the show being soft on him. Yes, OF COURSE we should still talk about unfair attacks on him by Zionist organisations. But he himself should not be held up as anything but an ideological enemy at this point. Oh, and I thought the AI segment was very funny, and I did enjoy the episode as entertainment. I just wanted to focus on a more substantive critique in my post here. Not trying to come across as overly negative, I hope this came across as coming from a place of love as a fan!

Lars

WOW. I can't believe I missed that. I understand separating the artist from their work. (Or in this case the commentator from this associations) but given how recent the revelations are just mentioning him in an uncritically positive way is very off-putting to me, thank you for pointing that part out.

Rita Balbo

Hey Daniel, here’s a couple of more titles for you! 1984 - David Bowie 1959 - The Sisters of Mercy Golden Years - David Bowie Enjoy!

John W

First time I heard "IHRA definition of anti-Semitism" I thought, wtf would drag racing have any credibility on this?

Carrie Williamson

So Jesse Brown will only talk to you guys if he can colonize your show? Sounds about right.

jaypie

BTW Germans also call New Year’s Eve “Silvester”. I’m guessing it’s an Ashkenazi thing.

Guys_Frenchy’s_Official

Maine voter voting Platner. I find all the anti Platner points totally unconvincing. I’d vote for him 10x before voting for a faux-progressive Dem who sells out for DC corruption within 6 months. Our local daily runs 5 anti-Platner concern-trolls a week as they desperately try to put Janet Mills in the senate.

Scott Grabel

How did Daniel just drive through the mountains and not pick up that it’s pronounced “App-AH—LATCH-AH”

Mojtaba HUSAYNI Khamenei

Graham Platner on regime change in Syria: "We are going to kill thousands. By the end of it, it may be millions. Our way of life is better, and if that is what it takes to prevail, let's get this show on the road. I don't disagree with your point, I just disagree with the fact you seem to think we shouldn't do it."

Mojtaba HUSAYNI Khamenei

This man is a national socialist he loved all the killing he did and he was mostly upset at the military's "up-or-out" policy and admitted that he would have stayed if he got better benefits while still being able to kill people himself. If you can overlook this about a potential politician who will lie to you about getting you healthcare (and then will never do it lol) then you would elect an ex-IDF soldier promising the same fucking thing.

Riaz Abdulla

1:32:05 a little on the nose. That’s actually the position of the Satmar and others like Rabbi Yaakov Shapiro on Zionism: it is idol worship

joancutesac

Yes, Chomsky, the man who wrote a glowing letter of recommendation for Jeffrey Epstein at least 9 years after Jeffrey was convicted of fucking children. Well played, Daniel.

Lars

As I said elsewhere, Platners logic is the exact same as all the right wingers who have dumped their previous anti-war stance to cheer on Venezuela attack.

Cassidy

I feel like there are some infiltrators in the Patreon.

joancutesac

You mean the ny cohost who mocked Pennsylvanian workers and invoked Chomsky in the same breath?

Trish R

It does 🙁

Trish R

“The Eric Adams Memorial Club VIP Area” is 10/10 😅. Also I KNEW Daniel would’t let me down when it came to that Schlomo Kramer clip lolll

Trish R

Daniel’s AI slop 🧑‍🍳💋 - perfection!

vcarly

Is any of this meant to imply Mills is better??

vcarly

Is that not something she does in the context of his race against Janet Mills in particular? Not to dismiss any of the criticism but is any of that meant to actually mean Mills is preferable?

vcarly

I mean what he actually said was their analysis was as if they had taken Chomsky's Course in Intellectual Self-Defense. As far as I'm aware his theories of propaganda and how to resist it have never involved defending Epstein. I get that it's ick but it's kinda different from saying anything to actually defend the man himself, it's more of a reference to an idea he promoted

Lars

If fans who literally give money to this show but want to hold its hosts to a high standard are infiltrators, they are pretty noble and high minded infiltrators! Selfless too!

Lars

I have no opinion on Mills, I literally don't know who that is. But we need to let go of "lesser of two evils" thinking. I mean, I am also seeing that thinking as a big excuse from the newly pro war right-wing "What, you want China to have Venezuelas oil?"

joancutesac

The issue is why Chomsky remains the reflexive reference point at all. For years we've been trying to get libs like Daniel to understand the ruling class only tolerates Noam and flies him around the world for lucrative speaking gigs because every four years he reliably redirects millions of left-leaning followers back into voting Democrat. We've just as consistently argued Parenti as the necessary corrective because he does all the same "intellectual self-defense" work attributed to Chomsky w/o retreating into liberal moralism. And even now, after learning Noam was secretly flying Lolita Express with international pedophiles, slapping hands with Steve Bannon, wiring Jeffery sums of $270,000 or more, liberals still reflexively invoke him as some sort of intellectual or moral authority. When someone like Daniel does this to patronize heartland workers it betrays a preference for elite signifiers over confronting power as it actually operates. 2026 is the year Mamdani libs still refuse to learn anything from the heartland.

joancutesac

Dats a whole new sentence carly

Guys_Frenchy’s_Official

Who’s a worse racist, white guy Platner for having problematic Reddit posts, or Kamala Harris, a woman of color who was VP in an administration that presided over the racially motivated slaughter of 200k Palestinians?

Mojtaba HUSAYNI Khamenei

If this is simply "problematic" to you then you do not view Muslims as human beings. You would support an IDF soldier who committed atrocities in Gaza if he were telling you a pack of half-baked lies. And most importantly - the actual alternative to Blackwater Oysterman isn't a Republican lol. The primary is months away (and has been for the months that these "progressive" pundits have been furiously going to bat for him). Get a candidate who is not a gleeful mass murderer. Even if you still believe in electoralism, stop lying to protect your Nazi candidate. Grow up.

joancutesac

They're not just "problematic Reddit posts" if he's literally bragging about killing Afghans and Iraqis and saying he "would re-enlist in a heartbeat" if given the opportunity. This guy CHOSE to patrol the Abu Ghraib torture facility as a paid mercenary because he enjoyed deployment so much. But you guys will still vote for him anyway because DNC pollsters figured out last year that all you want is a deep-voiced bearded guy who cusses and wears Carhartt to tell you Trump is Orange and Russian. Congrats, you're a barking seal

Lars

Literally lmao.

Marc Silverstein

we have to get the jewish community to ban together

Mojtaba HUSAYNI Khamenei

You would justify voting for the ICE agent who just shot a woman in the face if he promised to rebuild the military and give you free healthcare.

lashe

🙏 deltron 3030 mentioned

Lars

Exactly! I have been reading more Parenti recently, he is so much better than Chomsky its crazy. You can't accuse him of having these problematic Zionist ties.

joancutesac

Parenti was pushed out of the university system in the 1980s once his work became openly Marxist and anti-imperialist, whereas Chomsky was elevated and given immense institutional backing by the Bannons and Epsteins of the world because his critique of US policy ultimately framed capitalism as the lesser of two evils.
