Liberal Zionists be like "Oh no! Zionism's inevitable conclusion that's been happening with the support of the military and government we've been supporting for decades? Say it ain't so! This entirely precedented phenomenon is completely unprecedented!"

Tish Echo-Echo

Cameron Kasky who got caught going to Israel and then tried to make it seem like he was there to see the oppression for himself like he couldn't have just listened to Palestinian voices. Big L for Bad Hasbara.

What an interesting person

Meredith83

Jasper is the sexiest man alive. He has it all😆 Dont tell my husband. Amazing episode guys

Iqra Javed

Haha when he said “ they don’t need to do that” 😂 I have mixed feelings on this episode can’t tell if I liked the guest or not

T

He really is a smokeshow isn't he.

T

"Do you wanna hear my foreign policy perspective on fuckin' Atlantis?" is the new "Sell them to who, Ben? Fooking Aquaman?"

Matthew Norton

Cam is an interesting kid and fun to listen to, but either needs way more or way less ADHD meds

Salt Chunk Mary

I truthfully could not get through the first half with the guest. For whatever that is worth sharing from an everyday person with over one sunbleached crass shirt and evolved in the generational steppe between genX and GenNext. And like Daniel, also has a large record collection aka an ever growing monument to impulses. Then I realize. I’m old and I cast votes only in action. “This one’s not for me old guy.” -says my rational brain.

1:47:35 I thought the UK outlawed criticism of the Israeli state anyway. Didn't they adopt the IHRA definition of hate

Magda Len

Ya medicating PTSD is a great idea 🙄 never leads to suicide ever or causes more problems.

Jonathan Kadmon

The Kasky kid annoys me. Thinks waaay to highly of himself and just isn't all that. I'm here for matt and daniel not some self absorbed zoomer in love with the sound of his own voice

Verbose Minimalist

Not my bisexual ass catching strays when I'm just here for the terrible puns 😪

ahhh_heyyyooorrr

Not American so I don't know who this guest is but his story about being shown videos by Palestinians while he visited the West Bank of the abuse and trauma they suffered and him saying he had to act shocked wasn't cute or funny and I'm not sure what point he was trying to make - bizarre anecdote

Scott Grabel

Not that this is true for him, but there can be righteous reasons to visit Israel. I’m sure during India’s Independence Movement plenty of British allies visited for various reasons.

Cory

Not sure if it's my internalized homophobia but I found this guy so obnoxious.

Tish Echo-Echo

Like he couldn't have seen it from America without going to Israel! The genocide has been livestreamed!

Jacob King

He wasn’t trying to be cute. He was speaking from his experience as a victim of violence and an anti-violence advocate who has been desensitised to these kinds of images. He explained how because of his own trauma response he needs to dissociate in order to speak in public. He was saying in the moment of being shown these videos he chose to act shocked because the alternative would’ve been talking about his own experience which he didn’t feel was appropriate. I’m also not an American and had never heard of him but what he was saying was clear and reasonable.

T

Do you level the same accusation against Jasper? He literally couldn't get to occupied Palestine without passing through the Zionist occupation, there's no other way.

T

@Jacob King It's amazing how little grace some terminally online people are willing to give people who have been through traumatic, violent experiences. Last week the same people were advocating grace for traumatised Palestinians who lash out against Jewish people, but when this guy who survives a school shooting has unhealthy reactions to footage of violence suddenly he's a sociopath deserving no empathy.

T

Hold on, that was a literal Zionist activist who "caught" him. Why are you giving such credence to the narrative of a zionist trying to shame someone who tried to talk to Palestinians in person and look the occupation in the eye? You gonna go after Jasper as well? Purity testing like this is not helpful.

ahhh_heyyyooorrr

"terminally online" Right I don't know you and you don't keep me so we'll leave the personal swipes out of it shall we. Re: Jasper - atleast he goes and does investigative journalism over there. To me this chap came across as simply doing some sort of atrocity tourism - he even acknowledged that Palestinians themselve were indifferent and almost bored to see Jewish people constantly coming to see the horrors of the West Bank. His anecdote just didn't land with me in this incident- just gave me Peter Beinart vibes. The guest wasn't for me - which is fine, from reading the comments in not alone.

Toshio42

I dunno, if any zionist hasn't had a crisis of faith yet after 2-3 years of the some of the worst images we've ever seen, I don't think *not* being called "nazi" or "kahanist" is going to help.

Gittles

He was on bad faith recently and I hated him, hes so full of himself and a know it all

Scott Grabel

Two things to keep in mind, one is how for some people 10/7 was validation to be Zionist, and with information silos, they get none of the perspective and information we do

Cory

Glad I missed that! I had it mentally tagged as a politician episode which I always skip now.

Nicholas Storch

Fair enough but he's actually obnoxious. That's his schtick. And not at all just about Zionism. Is he an ally, I would say so but I'm a white guy.

Nicholas Storch

You were in the comments dunking on Susan Abulhawa, I don't like you.

Nicholas Storch

This is not a site to prioritize US trauma

Nicholas Storch

You dunked on Susan Abulhawa in the "Bad Hasbara" comments, why don't you F OFF!?

Nicholas Storch

"Information Silos" what does this mean? "Israelis get all the info that we do, when they choose to ignore it that doesn't excuse.

Nicholas Storch

He had dinner with a Zionist last week? Must be nice to not have a social life in total upheaval because of this shit. What a social butterfly!

Cory

"I have advantages that allow me to get an audience on Capitol Hill". I assume this guy is wealthy ? Being white and cute and a mass shooting survivor isn't usually enough. He never spelled it out. Seems like a douchebag.

Lauren Dubois

I’m too Australian for the “I’m a New York 7”, “I can get an audience on Capitol Hill”, “this kid who works for me”….

Aman

Hey piggies! I'm 26 mins in and was a bit worried when I read the comments before I started listening but so far this Cameron guy doesn't seem too bad - does that reflect poorly on me or something? 😅 He has survived a terrible trauma let's give him a little slack. Let me listen to the whole thing though 👀

Aman

The English accents are top drawer by the way.

Jo

Nah I found him a difficult person - im bi but mostly just confused (if it matters). Quite a few things he said made me do a double take. Feigning shock at bullet wounds in Palestinians because he's seen so many, was a bit odd and that being the part he had to talk about most. Would have been interesting to hear stories about the Palestinian wounds a bit more. But yeah hes obviously lived through an insanely traumatic event and that must fuck with your head.

×bekah×

tbh I don't understand all the hate for the guest on the episode ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ but i'm here for daniel's conversion goals
