It's not the platforming, or agreement with the right wing voices that is the real issue. I love all criticism of Israel, it's just that those voices will bring people along to a point of straightup hating of jews. It's very hard now to hear actual anti zionist jewish voices in media, outside of you guys, and those that people like us listen to. That's not where the people go, after being encouraged by the Tuckers, Fuenteses, etc. Even a Dan Bilzarian. He just hates jews, but can easily sway people already seeing the Protocols basically being brought to life by the Jewish supremacist state of Israel. I'm not Jewish, so i won't have the repercussions as people become more and more anti jew, but that's where more of the dialogue will go. PS: love you guys, though, didn't want to bring up a sore point.

Oh absolutely, he still has yet to fully break with Zionist indoctrination (same with many so-called anti-Zionists), I have many disagreements with Beinart, but I believe he's trying to be better, and he's open to criticism unlike most. If we can give credit to Carlson, we can absolutely give credit to Beinart. He was the one who turned my mother (a completely rusted-on liberal Zionist) off of Zionism pretty much forever.

Sad you didn't have time to get into the Zionist freak out in support of Paltrow (which included other chicken friend of the pod Hen Mazzig). It all seemed to be the same "gotcha" points about how "Herzlya" (unserious name, refuse to not put it in quotes) wasn't/isn't on stolen land bc of the following: A. It was "unused" land purchased from landlords in the 1920s (landlords-famously chill and always doing things in the best interest of the people! Also Palestinian land, famously "unused") B. It was "given" to Israel in the Partition Plan C. All of the Arabs in the original village fled "voluntarily" during the Nakba to avoid being caught up in the fighting. So everything's fine, we did colonizing LEGALLY! They left ON THEIR OWN! Very mask off moment as to how deeply essential colonialism is and always has been to Israel existing. The people making these points think they're doing land back.

I'm a union organizer. When the Mets made it to the World Series in 2015 one of our members, a close friend known for being a hardcore Maoist, took me to task on Facebook for indulging in the bread and circuses. I responded, "Comrade, workers like sports." He called me that night and in an unusually sheepish voice invited to a WWE event. Go figure. There's a fair amount of cognitive dissonance that comes with being an activist who loves sports. This is especially the case here in Japan where the company name is embedded in the team name. But there's a certain Marxism to screaming, "We are Chiba Lotte!" with several hundred fans in unison. I don't think Marxists should be against the team. That's not the point. Marxists just don't think anyone should own the team. Though the Knicks sure owned Wemby. I digress... So, our mayor is Muslim. Our bagels are Jewish. The Pope was on our side. Knicks in 5! Sports got us to that elegant mission statement in a way no union leaflet or clever tweet ever will. Activists have a choice. We can resent that and separate ourselves from those we're trying to activate, or we can join the celebration. The movement must join the community if we want the community to join the movement.
