This struck me a lot too in Daniel's "debate" with Jesse. Jesse seems uninterested in the history of Zionism because if he examined it closely he would have to admit its role in ethnic cleansing and genocide of Palestinians. He and Jesse are the same in their racist refusal to look at what Jewish supremacy has caused - Jesse sounds less rabid than Sam but the end result is the same.

I really wish that Jesse hadn’t interrupted Daniel when he was about to express grief. I have been binge listening/watching the entire podcast back catalogue and so when Daniel started talking about contempt and anger I, v parasocially, felt like I knew what he was going to say next. I don’t know if Jesse suspected that Daniel was going to say something about grief or just wanted to do an “ahah” moment, but I think it would have made him or people like him watching extremely uncomfortable. Maybe I’m projecting but I experienced the moment like he suspected Daniel was going to say something v profound and cut him off before he could.
