Hi.

This month it happens:

Familiar, the internationally beloved BDSM webcomic... ends.

I don't have a whole lot to say in the newsletter. I'll say something in the comic afterword, maybe. It feels weird. I'm sure it will feel weirder later. The series finale is scheduled to drop September 21 for Patrons and September 30 for everyone else.

I will continue to attempt not to post spoilers to Patreon. This is going to result in probably fewer BTS/WIP posts. Sorry.

Other Familiar stuff

I have other Familiar projects that I am working on, including the German translation and another 2027 thing that I hope to be able to announce soon.

Some Patreon changes incoming

With Familiar ending, I'll be making a couple minor adjustments to this Patreon. With the exception of the Scholar tier, the tier perks will be remaining the same -- the only thing that will change is that things like the Influencer polls will apply toward UNOC, not Familiar.

The $20 Scholar tier will be becoming the Familiar fan tier (name TBD), where I'll continue to post the Familiar author's commentary, and I may post other Familiar-related news and exclusives.

I will also be increasing the Familiar archive post one-time purchase price to $25 (it is currently $20).

All this will be reflected in the language on the Patreon page. (I will probably also be retiring the Patreon explainer page on the Familiar website)

Unoriginal Characters update

I have completed the script and thumbnails for the UNOC 2-chapter pilot, which is about 60 pages in total. I'll be working on finishing the pilot, as well as drafting/thumbnailing the first couple additional chapters, through the end of 2026. The comic will premiere in early 2027, likely in March or April, and will follow the same every-other-month release schedule as Familiar, with about 5 chapters dropping per year.

Okay. I think that's it for now. Whew. Thanks for everything, as always!

NGL as a reader there are times I wish comics never end. But I know that's not sustainable haha. I do look forward a lot to seeing how UC turns out. I'll be here for that for sure

Are you going to sell a printed Familiar book? I'd buy one.
