Honestly, the spider brother is a little weird too, but no where near as out of place as the dad. I had to say something every single time I saw him. My Demon Slayer version of Ubugawa Guy 🤣

There's an interesting parallel here to toxic family dynamics. Yes, this was a forged bond and they weren't technically a real family but if you take that metaphor and apply it to real life there are tons of families out there like that. Families who force one another to act or look or think certain ways and shun or punish those who go against the grain. It's really fantastic writing, honestly.

Responding suPER late but: Ahhhhh Episode 19 is so hype but then the twist in Episode 20 that makes you go WHAT (WHY) xD So I think it's part of the genre that we gotta keep power scaling to some extent so it is a bit of a D:<<<<< though that does not take away from how powerful emotionally Episode 19 is -- but it does show how much further along as a swordsman Giyuu is in comparison! And Shinobu is VERY interesting, please keep an eye on her :) She is also one of my favs and I can also see the Luna vibes!
