Also, we didn't forget about Haikyu!! 4x2 YouTube Version. We are having a really frustrating time figuring out copyright because the video keeps getting blocked. We will post it as soon as it gets sorted.

Youtube can be a nightmare sometimes, don't worry and remember to take a breather. ✨

Ashley hui

Don’t worry, take your time!

A. Saffari

take as long as you need

is this supposed to be a video or am i tripping?? the last death note discussion also was a picture for me

JujuChonk

This one and the last one was just a still image for me, too. Had technology finally bested me?

Sarah

Oh my gosh I'm going to have a literal meltdown. Nothing is working!!

MKG

I feel like maybe automatically having shirabu as the setter if you get ushijima? Though I feel like that’s a bit too heavy of a tax cause essentially you’d have the team setter already if you pick Ushi! Shirabu is a great setter but then you’d have a disadvantage of having the whole team cater to Ushijima like how they do it in shiratorizawa, plus the team dynamics may be a bit hard to manage!

Elle

It might be too much work, but what about assigning everyone a point ranking and then restricting each team to a point cap. (Like, you can have UshiWaka if you really want him, but that’s using up 35% of your allocation)

Linh Tran

Wait, is patreon going crazy? I've had the notification for this post at least 3 times already 😅

Ayan

similar to what mkg said, whoever picks ushijima could be barred from picking oikawa and kageyama to keep it from being too lopsided

Igor Pinchuk

One option could be a cost levied on the player who drafts Ushijima. For example, if a person drafts him, they lose an X number of turns after that (1? 2? would probably depend on how many people are participating in the draft pool). Another option could be a cost levied by the other draftees. For example, if Sarah drafts Ushijima, then when it is time for her to select her next player, the next participant in the rotation (e.g. Adam) gets to select a payer which Sarah has to take on her team. In essence, the trade for picking Ushijima is that someone else will get to pick a weaker/incompatible player for their team. This option may be more fun than loosing a turn suggestion?

Ayan

oh this is a fun idea! people do this all the time on the haikyuu subreddit

HeyDaydreamer

How about saving the pick for wing spikers last? Just to keep the suspense up until the end. Because if Ushijima gets picked from the get-go, then it might not be as exciting anymore.

jo

I like the simple idea that whoever picks Ushijima skips their next turn

jo

Pick Ushijima = skip your next turn. All other rules the same. I like the idea of not adding too many contrived rules

chaosdreamer

This might be a little too twisty in that it may require multiple layers of strategic thinking but another variation of some of the ideas that have already been posted would be to allow the person who does not pick Ushijima to swap one or two of their picks (obviously not Ushijima though) after the teams have been assembled.

StrawHatX

Whoever gets Ushijima isn't allowed to get Oikawa

Mico

Whoever picks Ushijima must have baby koganegawa as their setter. I'm only half-joking when I say this, but I'm curious as to whether Ushijima would be a player they'd want to acquire, even if the setter had to be a rookie in exchange for getting a top player.

Terry Kusunoki-Martin

I think a turn skip makes sense. If you pick Ushijima, you lose your next round pick. Simple, easy to implement.

Evan

A bit of a weird suggestion, but what if everyone gets a "Ushijima", so everyone drafts a team excluding him, then at the end everyone will add him to their team. Then see which team would win, but just skip a turn when you pick him makes sense as well

YSRGAMES

Most of the comments got the others. Here's a few of mine. Ushijima Delayed Draft: Delay Ushijima's draft until a later round (e.g., Round 3-4). This allows teams to build their core roster before Ushijima is introduced, making the draft more competitive. Ushijima Protections: Introduce a "protection" system, where teams can designate a set number of players (e.g., 2-3) as "protected" from being drafted by the team that selects Ushijima. This way, teams can safeguard their top choices.
