Any guesses where I completely broke down in tears again?? 😭🤣

I really like this episode. The titles of the episodes are always so good, and the various meanings behind this one are excellent! I don't want to get too far ahead of myself or anything, but am I starting to empathize with Hinata?! (Everyone's like, "Absolutely not." Okay, just thought I'd throw it out there).

As a former libero this episode always makes me cry. For someone like Hinata to be so excited about defense is so heartwarning. Thanks for the great video! Looking forward to the next one.

As always, I lose my mind whenever a big moment is coming and I look at Sarah and at the same time she looks at the camera and we make virtual eye contact. And ooo I was right there tearing up along side her! "Coach what should I eat" is easily one of my top three favorite lines in the entire series! It encapsulates so much of what I love about Haikyuu!! It's sweet, it's poignant, and it's about more than just literal hunger; it's about his drive and his passion. I love how whenever Hinata is trying harder his stomach is growling, that even THINKING about volleyball makes him hungrier, and how that hunger is contagious as well, inspiring even the most reluctant (*cough* Tsukishima) around him to do something too! His hunger is his drive, and I just love that when he makes the connection that his literal hunger is a part of making him into a better volleyball player, he does the natural thing and he asks his coach for help.

I don’t think I ever could’ve guessed that this episode would turn into one of the weepiest reactions yet.

omg I know exactly what you are talking about! I love it when Sarah makes virtual eye contact with us. it's so adorable!

I figured Adam would have a strong reaction to the “Coach what should I eat?” moment, considering how much he seems to put himself in Ukai’s shoes… but man seeing Sarah react the same way I always do to that question really broke me too. It’s such a strong moment showing how dedicated Hinata is. We know how far behind in his journey he is, but his drive will always be there, and the fact that he’s willing to call his coach in the middle of the night to ask for any advice shows the desire and strength of his dream.

Love the growth in Hinata from this episode, and building some of those foundations he never had a chance to get until this point. And really love how he's taken Ukai's words and even Takeda's words about building a foundation to heart. As a rec player who started playing for the first time a year and a half ago and struggled to receive the ball, I can appreciate the satisfaction similar to Hinata's when I began to be able to read where a hitter might go and get into position in time for the dig. It definitely helped that the people I looked up to when I first started playing were all excellent passers. Second to that was learning how my blocking affected those passers, similar to Lev's growth haha.

This has always been my favourite episode of season 4, even with all the heights the season reaches, because we get to see Hinata learn so much. The whole “Coach, what should I eat?” scene also gets me, especially the look of pure fondness Ukai gets when he hears Hinata repeat his own past advice! Aahhh this episode is so good! EDIT: “If you keep doing the right thing over and over again, people will see”. Oh god now I REALLY can’t wait for Adam to meet Kita!

The buildup for the future is genuinely so, so well done :")

American checking in to say we called it shagging balls too. Completely went over my head as a kid.

The first watch through I was more excited and surprised but the 2nd and 3rd watch through had me more emotional. It just hits differently. The what to eat scene being one of them and all the major moments in the series.
