Getting both training camps in this episode is 🔝 Soooo good getting to meet some new players (and wonder who they are) at the National Team Center.

Also... is Tsukishima softening a little bit or is he concerned that Hinata isn't getting enough practice?? Either way, I'm happy about it 🤣

I'm not sure I've noticed it before, but in a way you can see Hinata being a mirror to Washijo here - "being 2 meters tall is the best talent you can have!" And then genuinely good advice for playing. How many times has Washijo had to nurture talent out of someone like that, as a coach and in particular as a coach who wants to see "big, powerful volleyball"? It's pretty minor but he's clearly feeling something about it, since we cut to his face.

Hinata's conversation with Hyakuzawa reminded me of why I liked him even though he'd essentially been Mr. Cringe for most of the season thus far. 😅

Something interesting about the "goody two shoes" and Oikawa: in s2, there a scene where Kindachi ask Oikawa to set the ball a little lower, but Oikawa says no, let's keep trying this. And in the end he helps Kindaichi reach that higher point of impact. So no, Oikawa is not a "goody two shoes".

Tsukki is definitely being empowered by Hinata to do some extra training, even though it seems he is only using him. Also, I found it hilarious when Adam mentioned Demon Slayer when he saw Mr. Seagull. Does he know??

I think ya’ll were right about the goody two shoes not being a positive comment. Not sure who’s getting into arguments either you about that Sarah! I agree that Atsumu was definitely trying to pick on Kageyama. In regard to the training camp, Adam if you were a coach there, how would you coach these players? Especially Hyakuzawa being so new to volleyball? Would you agree with excluding Hinata like Washijo did or would you try to slyly encourage/coach him too?

With the somewhat pointed and awkward conversation at the beginning between Kageyama and Sakusa, obviously Kageyama is just doing his thing and saying things how they are yeah. Sakusa though, I think part of the shock for him is he is one of the other top three "ace" spikers just like Ushijima. Sakusa probably feels really threatened hearing Karasuno beat them since Ushijima is likely the #1 spiker in the country, and that means Sakusa could be beaten too since he's worse. Sakusa may have even looked up to Ushijima and had a bit of a reality shatter.

The VO for Atsumu, the "goody two shoes" guy is also the Same VO as Douma (Upper Moon 2) From Demon slayer. When I watched season 4 of Haikyu weekly, I was also reading the Demon Slayer manga and kept thinking, "this VO's vibe perfectly fits Douma, I hope they cast him for it". When it turned out they did in fact cast the same VO, I felt extremely validated lol.

Actually, Sakusa, Ushijima and Kiryu are not rated, they are considered the top 3 aces, but there is not a number 1, number 2 etc. Bokuto and Aran are on the top 5, but also, the Manga never rates them or gives a rating! But yeah totally, Sakusa admires and thinks of Ushiwaka as a rival, so he was freaked that he was defeated.

Probably not much different to be honest. If Hyakuzawa was selected to be there I probably would have had a conversation with him before it all started just going over expectations and I what I thought he could get out of the camp. I’m a big believer in everyone individual at practice having their own focuses to work on within the context of the practice. His would just be more basic than the others. Honestly if Hinata wasn’t invited (I’m not sure who made the invite list) I probably wouldn’t have let him practice. I think it’s a disservice to those who made it. If he was on the sidelines and had questions I would be happy to answer them.

Sorry late to this reaction and now you have met my most disliked character in all of Haikyuu Atsumu Miya you think that comment he said to Kageyama was mean just wait until later. People often compare Atsumu to Oikawa and say they are similar, but I disagree as you will see later this season.
