After the conflict and learning experiences from episodes 6 and 7, we can't help but be left with so much hope for Karasuno at the end of this episode. Obviously the timelines are accelerated, but you leave this episode being like, "They are going to win NATIONALS!!!"Also, the competition within the team, and the desire to earn your spot on the court is so on point. Haikyu!! nails it!!

I slightly disagree with Adam about "Hinata wants to win more than anything." I think it's more that Hinata wants to be on the COURT more than anything. Of course playing and being on the court means you have to be good, you have to win if you want to keep playing so he does WANT to win. But it the purest sense, I feel Hinata just wants to play. He wouldn't be satisfied if Karasuno always won if the trade-off was he had to be benched. He wants to be on the court, and we love him for that. :)

I really like the scene with Hinata and his sister. Throughout the show we've seen how various characters first came to volleyball: Hinata through the Little Giant, Tsukki through his older brother, Ushijima through his dad. Thus far Hinata's been something of a "little brother" of the group, but I like to think in this scene we're seeing Hinata in the role of the big brother igniting the love for volleyball in his younger sibling. It'd be awesome if some day we got a next gen Haikyuu starring Natsu.

Sarah

I love that scene too! Great points!!

Hi! Sara and Adam, I love your YouTube channel. I would like them to one day react to the spring tournament that is inspired by Haikyuu, it is incredible to see the performance of these guys. An example of this is Ran Takahashi during his third year of school, he represented his school Higashiyama in the nationals. They won the spring tournament and by the time he graduated he had already been called up to the national team. I was fascinated by the tournament in general and seeing the talent of all these guys. I leave some videos hoping you can react to them. Thank you. - https://youtu.be/6hwPnOmKwBU?si=bNinnmyFZ3QtwEUn - https://youtu.be/_pJeWdvyQuQ?si=9PFNjT4mhl1R1H9p - https://youtu.be/Ezjoa8BCgOI?si=RoVSS4A7dYiYAFin - https://youtu.be/5MTii50nYxE?si=zC5IPZAPWqAG4RBa - https://youtu.be/xcqdwUC3v50?si=bn0QwejkE-0mdtwB - https://vm.tiktok.com/ZMkVuucAB/ - https://vm.tiktok.com/ZMkVuPDb7/ - https://vm.tiktok.com/ZMkVu519d/ - https://vm.tiktok.com/ZMkVH98Mm/ - https://vm.tiktok.com/ZMkVHHTgh/ - https://youtu.be/osSGRUL-Ka8?si=XtOyxYi4lxeSWHyQ Finally, I would like to know if you will react to the Haikyuu manga, since one of my favorite arcs is the dumpster battle, but being a movie they omitted many important things that happen in the manga and reading the matches in the manga is very different to see them in the anime, it is another unique experience that I would like to live through you and see your perspective as professionals.

To add to this, I think this is one of the biggest distinctions between his drive and a LOT of other protagonists in media (of all kinds, not just anime). He isn't interested in being "the best" per se; he just wants to play and play and play until it's literally not possible anymore. In most other media, especially stuff marketed towards young and adolescent boys, the aspirational goal of the protagonist is that they want to become the BEST at whatever the focus of the story is.
