I am speechless. What an ending! 🤯 I think we got hit with shocks at least 5 times, and I am still processing what we witnessed here. Absolutely incredible and now this makes me want to see the movies even more!!

September 12 can't come soon enough!

Will you guys be going to see the movies in theater and then reacting to them at a later date?

Sarah

We are still trying to figure that out. We don't know what to do!

Born

And this is why there’s going to be 3 movies! 😂

Franina

I would love to see your reaction to the movies since this will be the finale of demon slayers but seeing a movie as grand as that in the movie theater is a once in a lifetime experience. So if you do choose to watch the movies and not react please do a movie recap and your thoughts. Maybe vlog the experience and then do a recap lol. Congratulations to Adam to finishing his first anime that’s always an epic experience. Enjoy your journey with attack on titan ❤️

potamas5

Personally, I feel doing something like you did for Haikyuu with the reaction right after at the theater or maybe once you get home would be fun. It’s such a different environment compared to watching at home and it doesn’t seem fair for you guys to wait longer for it to be streamable just so we can see your first reactions. There’s going to be so much to take in that you’ll probably have a bunch to say even if it’s the second time through.

kringlekrisp

I only read the manga after this episode because I couldn't wait lol

This episode is Epic, with a capital E, no matter how many times you watch it, now leading to 3 epic movies. Also, I came across a theory about that scene where Ubuyashiki’s daughters were playing in the mansion. It suggested that they were playing to distract themselves from what was coming, since Ubuyashiki probably told them he planned to k**l them all together. The poor girls were scared to d*e, hence they decided to use a distraction. I’m not sure if that’s true or if it’s from the manga, but it’s really heartbreaking if you think about it. I’m going to miss these Tuesdays (my time) watching Demon Slayer with you two. Hurry up, September 12! We’re eagerly waiting for you!

Yessss! Now you have to suffer with us as we wait for the first movie lol. I think the poster for the 1st movie is out, and the release date is Sep 12 for US/Canada. Idk when the other movies will be out, but a popular theory is 1 a year or 1 every two years which is gonna suck since, as you guessed, the movies will cover the fights in the Infinity Castle, which all takes place over 1 night in the story. A lot of people didn't care for this season until the end lol, especially when you compare them to the others, and since it doesn't focus in areas where some want it to. For example, they extended Tengen's and Muichiro's plots into full episodes but left Mitsuri and Shinobu (and Kanao, who we STILL have not seen fight) with nothing. They do a tease for Shinobu at the end of Ep 2 but it won't have payoff until the movie. What this arc mainly did in the manga was develop the Hashira we hadn't seen yet or didn't know fully: Giyu, Sanemi, Obanai, and Himejima. In hindsight, not much happens since it all culminates in the Muzan reveal this episode. BUT the Muzan reveal is SO good, so in a way, it was all worth it Fun fact: Nakime's eye things are anime-original. In the manga we don't see her face until after everyone is already stuck in the mansion, so it was a much bigger shock in the manga since you kinda forget she exists altogether and you don't see the demons actively planning anything until everyone is already in the mansion. Adam is right on the money with how Nakime's power works; it's essentially a pocket dimension. In Season 3 she teleports upper 4 and 5 to their desired location, so it seems she can open gateways anywhere as long as she knows where it is. Also, yes! Ubuyashiki has a child with black hair. You'll see when you watch the OP but in there it shows how many children he has. Idk if you guys already decided on your next series after Demon Slayer, but I recommend Frieren or Jujutsu Kaisen. Frieren is FANTASTIC in terms of animation and story and pulls from a lot of DnD and JRPG tropes if you guys are familiar, and JJK is in the same vein as Demon Slayer, so it's usually easy for people to go from one to the other imo.

Arafat

what anime is replacing this one?

Sarah

Attack on Titan

Linh Tran

I know the movie situation is not ideal for reactions but please go experience it in the theater. If you think Mugen Train was epic when watching at home, imagine how great it can be in the theater. We'd love to hear your thoughts after watching and you might do a reaction of movie 1 when movie 2 is coming out or something like that.

Square Block

Don't know if you guys noticed but zenitsu was calm as a cucumber dropping into the infinity castle and AWAKE! 🤔🤔🤔

Elle

Definitely see it in theatres!

weezy

I think it’d be great if you watched the movies in theatre and then maybe did a live stream the day after or something to recap! I can’t wait for the movies!! I also started reading the manga when the second season of the anime just finished and was waiting for season 3 so wanted to find out what happened

This episode gives me full body chills every time I watch it. The sound design, the art, the animation, they're all so damn on point and beautiful. And I really really love how observing you are, how many details you notice, how many things from previous seasons you remember and connect to each other and you base your theories on. You're not just wildly guessing most of the time, it's a mix of knowing the story very well - despite not reading the manga or rewatching, having a great feeling for story telling and genuine interest and creativity on your side. This makes it so enjoyable to watch you two react. The pauses are also great, even though they are sometimes at awkward times, because they let you digest what you just saw so you don't overlook or forget anything. And to be honest, the breaks are mostly perfect, you always know when a scene ends/transitions so technically it's the right moment, the shows just aren't made to have those breaks so it's always more action, more story, more exciting stuff happening right after so you can't avoid stopping at "bad times". Something that I at least imagine but rarely see people notice or discuss so maybe it's just in my head but when you see the Hashira running, their genuine fear and almost despair is shown so well. Look at their eyes and faces. Look at them sweating, it's not just the "I've been running so obviously" sweat, to me it looks like that cold sweat that you get when you suddenly realize that something has gone awfully wrong. And on top of their obviously heart breaking cries for their master, listen to their breathing. This show is all about full concentration breathing and breathing techniques and focus, things that make you powerful and all good demon slayers have going at all times. Yet here you hear them panting but in a way that obviously shows that they lost their cool and they're so panicked that they even dropped their full concentration breathing. That's how shook they are. They're so concerned, scared and desperately trying to get there that they forget doing something that's second nature to them. It's like forgetting how to blink. That's how much they care about Ubuyashiki. By the way, something that you either overlooked or didn't comment on: re-watch the Zenitsu scene. You even said "hopefully he passed out before the fall" but if you look again, he is in fact not passed out. Quite the opposite, he's wide awake, more serious than has ever been and not a tiny bit scared or shocked. Like the biggest scaredy cat that literally whines at everything RANDOMLY and OUT OF NOWHERE is sucked into the infinity castle, a place he doesn't know, full of demons, just falling and all he does is fall and prepare for battle. While others are trying to catch themselves or turn themselves the right way up at least, and I mean look at even the hashira, they're even shook and surprised, he's literally just falling, cool as a cucumber. Ready to go. It's one of my favorite scenes because of the music and how you at first only see the iconic white sword falling, then a hand grabs it, you recognize him, see him fall, everyone thinjs "oh no, he will panic" and "hopefully they took him when he was sleeping or he's knocked out", then it slowly pans to his face, eyes closed (of course, that's the only way that he works, right? Right?) and then he opens his eyes and you realize that this is happening. How freaking epic is that? Another thing that I like is how you noticed that Muzan cares about looks. He doesn't care about what's inside, it's all superficial. You noticed way quicker that he wasn't the one to blow up the mansion than most people, partially because of that. He'd never blow himself up voluntarily. Good eye! What I wanted to add to the conversation about eternity: in my opinion, the point that Ubuyashiki was making about the demons all dying when Muzan dies is that classic "a man only truly dies when he is forgotten" idea. Sure, countless of demon slayers have died over a thousand years. Ubuyashiki himself will die/has died. But what has never died is the memories of those people. The grudge that all of those who came after them hold. In a sense that makes them live forever, makes their lives eternal, even though they passed. On the other hand Muzan, when he dies, doesn't have anyone who comes after him. Anyone who cares or cared. When he's gone, his only connection, the other demons that he created, will disappear. Every memory of his, every proof of his existence, everything will disappear. So in that sense, his eternity is forever threatened by this. He's being told to his face that what he has always wanted is something that humans have had all along. And he threw it away looking for a fake eternity. That must hurt. I also agree that most people have probably read the Manga. I know that I always do it when I catch up to the anime of whatever I'm watching. I'm too impatient and generally enjoy manga a bit more, except for the really hype moments but I can still watch them after the fact. And knowing what's about to come I'll say that no one is ready, not even I am ready, and that the movies are going to be straight fire. I envy you a little because you can truly experience the story for the first time when it's animated. Lastly, I'd vote for you watching it on the big screen. If you want, you can do a "reaction" after the movie where you talk about what you thought, but imo it's not worth waiting to watch it at home. Just think about how epic these last episodes were. How epic demon slayer episodes in general can be. Now imagine, that instead of a few weeks to create a single episode, you have a massive team working for over a year on a single movie. More people, more budget and more time. Also think about how great the sound effects, the music and the visual effects are already and now imagine seeing that on a massive screen and hearing it through proper audio equipment vs. Earpods. Don't get me wrong, there's very little that I'd rather do than watch this "with" you (can't really do it live because I'm in Germany and even if you did a meet up I couldn't join. And ngl, for a brief moment I considered taking a week or two vacation just to come to Canada and go to a potential meet up and watch it together...), I believe that you should allow yourself to experience it live with only other fans.

Chel

Hi Sarah! I dunno if some of the fans already commented but when Muzan did this slow epic entrace, the fans kind of edited the bgm and replaced it with Smooth Criminal, it's HILARIOUS *cue in Michael Jackson hahaha

Stonewall Hackson

I knew it wasn’t going to be the end, but it was so SATISFYING to see the stone hashira charge in and ABSOLUTELY smash Muzan’s head in. It’s torture waiting for these movies because I’m waiting for them to finish before I read it.

SDCWW171

I truly WISH they would keep it episodic/seasonal but the movies make major money. The Mugen Train movie is the highest-grossing anime movie period. making half a billion worldwide, so it tracks that a lot of recent anime are getting movies made(Haikyu, Demon Slayer, Jujutsu Kaisen, etc). Tbh the only anime film that felt worth it to watch in theaters was the Haikyu movie, because the loud sounds of them hitting the ball/it hitting the court were really enhanced in a movie theater. The trade off is my all time favorite part of Haikyuu as a whole will be likely heavily cut/shortened since it will be a part of the 2 remaining movies for the series.

Chel

OMG Thank you so much for considering to watch AoT! I cannot explain how excited I am for that omg I'm already pumped for the reaction to first episode to come out!

Milly I. Nakai

Adam: was that Rengoku (when the mansion explodes)? Me: no, it was Tengen. Fireworks, explosives, ninja artifacts mixed in between. Who else, if not Tengen? The Master trusted the trap plan to the two eldest Hashiras, in my opinion: Gyoumei and Tengen. *not officially confirmed, but these are my personal thoughts. This episode was EPIC, and so was your reaction!

AnnaSama

You guys should just see it in theaters and do a second watch reaction later. There is no way to avoid spoilers for that long.

Peter

this is seriously a perfect episode of a show!

Peter

PS - glad you guys are caught up now! now the big wait begins, at least we still have karasuno vs inarizaki going on!

AnnaSama

In the manga it’s explained that Amane refused to leave her husband’s side and had intended to die with him for a long time. They sent the younger children off, but let the oldest daughter decide what they wanted to do and they chose to die with their parents.

Sarah

Oh man, that's super heartbreaking if that's the case 😢

Sarah

I think I was just overwhelmed with everything going on and figured he was messed up from whatever was in his letter

Sarah

Omg I would die 😂

Sarah

Wow this is a great comment. Thank you so much! How many times have you seen/read Demon Slayer?? You dive into the DETAILS!!

Rameez Ahmed

Holy shit!!!! It's happening!!!!
