Let those tears flow, baby! You knew I couldn't make it through a finale without some tears, but can you guess which part brought them on???

I deleted my comment by mistake, then it was there again... Don't know what I'm doing anymore, damn. Anyway, I think Yuuri had that guilt of keeping Victor off the competition weighing on him for a long time and he had to get it off his chest. As for Victor returning to competition, it is worth mentioning that he has won easily all these years and therefore lost motivation then suddenly his records were broken. He has competition again, and that might have been the motivation he needed. Equally, I think seeing Yurio's performance motivated Yuuri to keep going. As for the stripper pole, it is the fandom's theory that Christophe travels with his own pole, because you never know when you'll need one lol I’ll let somebody else explain how Mappa betrayed us cause honestly, I haven’t recovered from the trauma yet

The fact that Yuri on Ice basically put studio Mappa on the map and they could build and expand their IPs BECAUSE Yuri on Ice became a national and international phenomenon AND brought in both animation accolades and a boatload of profit… only for them to treat it as they did is a travesty. I wanted to see young!Victor in his first Olympics on the big screen so much, shame on them for cancelling the movie after yeeeears of waiting. The preview looked so good. 😢

Ah, the exhibition skates, I’ve heard apparently Yuri and Victor was switch back and forth on who’s doing the make or female steps, and Yurio, yeah he is just letting lose steam from doing agape all season. Also every time seeing Sarah cry that like, the evil side of me just really wants to make her watch absolute tearjerkers like Your Lie in April or Anohana😈

HeatXtreme

Oh, and the big betrayal, there was originally a movie promised that was in work about when Victor still had the long hair, and the only thing we got out of it was a small PV and that the production was canceled after like 5 years of waiting

Now we need an anime version of Bear Town.

Top 10 Anime Betrayals, I swear...

Sarah

Oh dannnnnng. I didn't realize that Yuri on Ice put MAPPA on the map. Wow, they totally owe it to Yuri on Ice to continue with the story

Sarah

I actually love shows that make me cry like that, so I'm all in 😂 make me feel something!!

Karina

Yeah, they made Terror in Resonance in 2014 (with Shinichiro Watanabe directing and Yoko Kanno responsible for the music, both veterans, great colleagues and incredibly respected in their fields) and it had huge critical acclaim but sadly no commercial success. Yuri on Ice had both with an emphasis on commercial, which was a surprise to all because it’s an original story and not an adaptation, so it had no built-in fanbase to rely on. After that they focused more on readapting well known and loved anime storylines for less financial risk (Banana Fish and Dororo come to mind, they did a really good job and both were financially successful) but I think nowadays they are most well known for Jujutsu Kaisen and picking up Attack on Titan and Vinland Saga after other studios. But yeah, if Yuri on Ice did not keep them afloat financially, the goodwill would not have lasted in the industry, no matter the talent and vision they had.

Yes!!! The ending!! 🥹 I forgot how much I love Yurio’s exhibition skate, i love rock music and so watching yuri on ice I always thought like man do they always do classical music? Then BAM yurio said im an angsty teen here you go!! 😂 I forget if its canon or not but living for Yurio being jealous that Yuri and Victor did the exhibition skate together and called in Otabek for a favor 😂

Sarah

You can thank our editor for bringing this extra scene to our attention. She was like, "YOU HAVE TO INCLUDE THIS WITH EPISODE 12!!!!"

Hey guys! Just letting you know that there was an 'Yuri on Stage' special in Japan that has various segments uploaded and translated on YouTube. One was a fun story about the next time they do Hot Springs on Ice! There's no animation, just the cast reading from their scripts. I think you'll enjoy it! It's called 'Yuri on Stage - The Chihoko Drama' https://youtu.be/GlCZr7fG3fM?si=Z31Kq0rWK5TDxTTB
