Been waiting whole morning for this to drop... I loved Adam's reaction to the last episode and just had to see more... Clean haircut btw :D

I love Adam being able to understand Eren's situation here, manyyyy reactors and viewers are quick to expect Eren to just be able to fight Annie to the death. Yes he is a hot head and arrogant at times, but 90% of the times Eren gets mad it's to protect his comrades, for him to be betrayed in this way with someone that he trained with is a lot. Eren has the most "human" response, not so quickly being able to kill someone he considered a friend just yesterday, EVEN when Eren finally goes to attack her he says he doesn't have time to think about what's right or wrong. Armin understands it's discarding his humanity to be able to flip on a dime, but he accepts it as a win condition. Mikasa doesn't give it much thought and considers all of it just the worlds cruelty, which is why she is so good at reacting quickly but lacks compassion towards others (besides her two best buds).

I’m not sure how for in advance you record these but there is a VERY important post credit scene in the next episode, don’t miss it!

@20:00 From my point of view it’s just Eren being in denial, and I get it. I mean, they were together for three years, training together, sweating and bleeding together, sharing barracks, crashing together, eating together… He can’t wrap his head around the fact that someone he practically spent three years of his life with… every bloody day… is suddenly the enemy he’s gotta fight. That’s just my two cents.

Up until this moment, Eren had a separation in his brain, it's Humanity VS Titan. Adam were right when he said "Come on Eren, you swear to kill all the titans" and yes Eren did, but he didn't swear to kill any human, he didn't know that a titan could also be a human. At this point, after seeing Eren transformed, thinkers like Armin and Erwin and others were fully prepared for intelligent titans to be human and be among them as spy. But Eren weren't the type to think that far or be that smart. So he wasn't prepared mentally to fight and kill another human (not to mention, a comrade that he's known and trained with for years). This is what Armin were talking about when he said they need to throw away their humanity - they need to kill a human - in order to win, because their enemies are doing exactly that. They will not win or survive if they aren't doing the same. In my first watch, I didn't really understand Eren's hesitation either. But now that I'm re-watching it with Sarah and Adam, I see now how important this episode is, and how it sets up a crucial change in Eren's mindset. This is my third watch and I'm still finding nuggets that I missed. Immense respect for the author and their intricate writing of AoT!!

Jesus watching this a second time is a TRIP. I may have my little issues with AOT, but the storytelling is a masterclass in writing.

I totally forgot Mikasa was gassed up Eren in the tunnel. While Season 1 is a great im really excited for the next 2 seasons

The whole biting your hand to transform always gets me. Biting hard enough to draw blood is so hard to do on a instinctual level.

Just an added comment, I was rewatching lol.. Eren's feelings are conflicted because Eren is loyal to his friends and comrades. He will fight for everyone he considers as such. And I think that's how he sees Annie, as a comrade. How can this happen? He probably thinks. He was even in disbelief and tried to question how Armin can conclude Annie is the Female Titan. How can a comrade betray humanity? He's in denial and it's a normal reaction, because admitting to the reality would be painful to the psyche/ego. It's a defense mechanism.
