I am so here for Shirone's lesson, and I love the reframe he was able to do with Tsukasa's help. Once again, Inori is showing how her mindset is just different 😊

Love these reactions :D I think they're my favourite on your channel right now. AFAIK, his name is Akeuraji (surname) Tsukasa (forename). Everyone calls him Tsukasa because Akeuraji is difficult to pronounce and remember (even his old partner!). So really, Rioh calling him Akeuraji-sensei shows how much he admires and respects him.

i completely forgot that you edit out the music during the performnces, coz i really liked that song (it is called "go for the gold" and i listen to it regularly on spotify haha), Tsukasa really timed his skating perfectly, it was so amazing to watch, i'm glad that you are also mesmerized! that jump he did was only a single Axel i think that's why Mittens was not impressed, but seeing how spellbound was Rioh, it's all good! haha

i loved your reaction to Rioh handing out his written goal to Tsukasa! i was waiting for it! I can see both of you are misty eyed! Haha Also, notice that Rioh now started bowing to Tsukasa, same as his father (coash Sonidori) as a sign of respect, and just like his dad, also calls him by his last name which is Akeuraji! i really loved this Rioh arc!

I’m glad you spotted how thoughtful, sensitive and surprisingly mature Inori is. Earlier episodes show her gentle, considerate nature. Aware of her mother’s strain, she never voiced her longing to skate. Last episode, she explained her rush to advance grading quickly: beyond matching peers, she craves recognition for Coach Tsukasa, wanting her success to prove his skill. I feel that Inori already holds herself responsible for Tsukasa’s career. That’s why she’s determined to pass Level 6 faster, to make everyone acknowledge his excellence. I don’t think this mindset is entirely healthy. Few children think like this. Her kindness, perceptiveness and maturity promise great progress, yet they burden her with undue stress. “Sensitive people endure more suffering.” I think the creator repeatedly highlights Inori’s unique mindset, and this double-edged trait will become far more obvious in later episodes. Incidentally, all these traits of Inori can also be found in Coach Tsukasa. I think what separates this series from Haikyuu!! is that it goes beyond competition wins and losses, deeply exploring the tangled emotional bond between athletes and coaches. Minor spoiler: I cried three times watching the finale. Hope you won’t be flooded with tears next week, haha.

Seeing Rioh smile like that when he hit his goal! love this for him, made me teary eyed! i remember in the beginning where you predicted that Rioh might not be a good fit for Tsukasa to train, because he is so rude, compared to Inori who's so polite and obedient.... and it turns out, Tsukasa is the perfect coach for Rioh as well. i'm so glad you are loving this thow!!!

There’s an extra post-credits scene at the end of next week’s finale — don’t miss it!

Just to clarify, Tsukasa was NOT a couple years older than Inori when he started progressing (key word) on the rink. He first tried out skating when he was 14, which yes is a couple years older than Inori, but in his backstory reveal (ep 1x4) he mentioned how being a student who didn't want to burden his parents for the costs (due to the added pressure of starting late) he didn't further pursue it until he was like close to graduating high school (and those were group skating classes, so he "seriously" began pursuing it when he was close to 20 thanks to Kago becoming his benefactor). Adam is completely right, there is realistically zero chance of being able to get the connections / entries into tournaments at that age for that level of (lack of) experience on a nationals-type competitive stage. Even the ice-dance realistically would be the same case, but it's somewhat of a story plot-armour made a bit more believable since there's 2 people, and Tsukasa's partner (the head coach) did have a "normal" progression, and therefore didn't have the barrier of entry to that stage. That being said, it might get forgotten since it isn't heavily emphasized, but it has been mentioned (and will be again) that Tsukasa's was always extremely talented, even a "natural". The biggest evidence for this is even Yodaka Jun himself tells Tsukasa when they met that one time (ep 1x5), how "you had that spectacular lift failure, but that performance stuck with me", out of all the people who were in the ice dance nationals, Tsukasa got his attention even with the "incident". That's not a light statement of potential, coming from an Olympic medalist.

I think the confusion is that Japanese names are said the other way round: Surname Firstname. And in Japan you really don't call by first name unless you are really on a first name basis. So Rioh is actually the only one who is actually abiding by that respect (not that the others disrespect Tsukasa, it's just his surname is hard to say and remember).
