We know a little about the front man’s back story. In episode one or two when the cop was talking to his mom she mentioned visiting InHo’s wife’s memorial. So for now all we know is he was married and his wife is dead.

I have a thought: the frontman participated in these games years ago to get enough money to save his wife and unborn child. When he won the games and returned, his wife and child died while he played these games (or maybe shortly after). That loss killed him (inside) and he probably has a lot of guilt and anger left inside him. Anger at himself for not being there for his wife. So he returned (to the games) to become the frontman and, although he kills 456 trash (people) every time these games start, in his mind, he kills himself 456 times... The reason he is so obsessed with Player 456 is probably because, for one, he sees himself in him and thinks these thoughts 456 has, are ridiculous and not worth it because the frontman already knows he won't be able to change anything. The frontman was once just like 456 but these games changed/destroyed him. Another thing I think is happening is that the frontman sees Player 456 as his little experiment. How far does the frontman have to go to destroy 456's innocence/greenness? I think his plan might be to turn 456 into someone like him. I have a feeling 456 might end up as a new frontman... which I think would be kinda cool...
