Hey gang! MERRY CHRISTMAS! And/or HAPPY HOLIDAYS!

Hope you enjoy this little breakdown of the song I worked on today.

Been a little unlucky recently, a one-off editor disappeared and I haven't been able to get in touch with him so the video I was gonna drop Saturday didn't get done :( Gotta find someone else... but that'll be after the holidays.

Anyway, I appreciate you all :) Let's have some great holidays and come back rejuvenated!

I was in the middle of figuring out how to download Reactbot after seeing Jack’s latest video, and now this? Today is full of nice surprises haha. Good to see ya! This sounds so cool. Always so interesting to see you pick out parts of a song I wouldn’t have noticed otherwise! Hope you have an amazing Christmas!! 🎄 :)

Merry Christmas and happy holidays, Joel! I enjoy this kind of breakdown, it’s very nice! The whisper I couldn’t hear tho haha

Dorie

Merry Christmas to you too. 💕

Airyckah Lane

Merry Christmas Adam! And happy holidays! The whispering part.. it’s so subtle. How did you think to add that, to know how it would enhance that way? Or is this a fairly common practice within the industry, or at least in your style?

Cas

Always interested in how you put songs together! More please. Have a lovely holiday with your family. Merry Christmas.

Merry Christmas 🎅🏻

Happy to see you! Like how this white t-shirt looks on you. I love this 80s style! The whispers were unexpected and that made me laugh:) But everything all together sounds so yummy! Sorry about the editor:( Hope you’ll find someone better easily and quickly. Merry Christmas, Joel! Have a pleasant time with your dear people<3

Merry Christmas, love that you picked 80's. Always thought music of that era was a little more fun than others. I'm curious about the lyrics....such a tease😉. Glad for the music, always sounds so good. The little bit isn't funky, sounds so nice. More, please.✌️❤️😂

God Jul, Merry Christmas I hope u have really nice and cozy Holidays with your family! This rest of the year has been so draining and hard, that I'm really looking forward to having some days off and excessive eating 😁 Thank u so much for this song break down video, soooo interesting! And that song sounds great 🙂 Sorry to hear about the missing editor, I hope u find someone else for the job easily. Appreciate you too 😊❤️

I closed my eyes and tried listen carefully for the whisper when all layers are thrown together but I just couldn't hear it. Lol. Either I'm still drowsy from waking up or I just don't get it. Lol. Thanks for this song breakdown. I wouldn't have pick up the little bits and pieces until you laid out the work stage by stage. Interesting how certain sounds can be associated to specific artistes i.e. these artistes have some kind of sound template. Is it possible an artiste uses only 1 fixed sound (can be drums, guitars, synths, etc) for their songs to sort of define their style especially in an album to distinguish from their other albums? That ghosting editor was plain unprofessional. I'm sorry to hear you had a hard time because of him. Hopefully a better editor comes in soon. May your Christmas be filled with warmth and laughter together with your loved ones. It's Christmas Eve over here. Take care and have fun, Joel~~💜

Ooooh I desperately want the rhyme to go "times we had" + "to hell so fast" instead of "bad". Even when it doesn't rhyme as nicely😅 That way it seems more like one of those explosive crushes that implode under its own weight in a matter of days/weeks, rather than months/years... God that brings back my teenage angst💔

Loved the breakdown of the new song!!💟 Hope you and your family have a great time over the Christmas holiday🎄 🎉

michelle

this is such a cool style of video! i can totally hear a taylor influence but more so early taylor, like somethings giving love story! love the whispers also, feels like one of those “i’ve heard this song so many times and still hear something new each time” kinda things and i love it! good luck with the editor stuff and merry christmas!

Aubrey Danielle

Fake guitars? How dare you Joel 😂 sounds really good 🙌🏼

Aubrey Danielle

Also, how could an editor not get back to you?? 😭 I could never do that to my clients 🙊

I got a bit distracted by your shirt lol it's so white 😆 On a serious note, I honestly can't wait to hear your new music. This sounds amazing and to see the intricacies that went into making it. Merry Christmas to you and your family. Cherish your time together, make good memories, and have a great one! Sending warm hugs from this tropical part of the world :)

Miriam

Thank you for sharing this breakdown with us. I always enjoy seeing the excitement and enthusiasm in your facial expressions, and hearing it in your voice when you’re sharing something you’ve been working on and are proud of it. Even when I don’t understand what you’re talking about, I enjoy hearing you explain how things work. Merry Christmas Joel, and to your family. I hope you’ve been finding time to spend with your nephew and niece. I appreciate you always.

My older brother-in-law (who we lost a few years ago), used to call December 23rd “Christmas Eve’s Eve”. And back in 2010, that is the day my husband proposed to me. 😁😁 Merry Christmas everyone!!

Melissa Rogers

Also, about the M.I.A. editor…what about giving the video to: Martin or Joshua or Jiva?! (Missing In Action -> M.I.A.)

Amanda-Leigh

Lovely little peek into the inner workings of musical creation 😊 Merry Christmas to you and yours.
