The Song That MADE Taylor Swift - Why it's great

Today we do a deep dive on the arguably most important song in Taylor Swift's career. While you could argue many songs "made" her career or sustained it over time, this is the main one. I forgot how much this song makes me smile. And you can definitely hear the county in her voice when you pulled out the vocals. Thanks for the breakdown. Can’t wait to hear the next one. 💕

Aww, I had forgotten this song, it's so cute! Definitely brings one back to the teenage years, before the reality of things have hit hard 😆 Thanks for the early access, once again such a nice entertaining yet informative deep dive 🙂

Fun fact: I used this song in a slideshow I made for my parents 30th wedding anniversary :) “You Belong with Me” made me a Swiftie! Also my favorite Taylor Swift song :)

I was never really a big Taylor fan (don’t come for me 😅) but she does have some great songs and no doubt she’s super talented.

Love this song!!💟 Thanks for the early access video👍

I haven’t listened to her songs, and probably (almost) everything I’m familiar with is from your videos. And I keep laughing hearing this song because of your “ruining” famous songs video ☎️

I think there seems to be a country/pop resurgence every 10-15 years or so. It is always around but it becomes extremely popular for a bit, like now. I really love these breakdown videos no matter what the song. I found it interesting how the song has a climax through some clever writing and producing rather than belting or high singing. I can take or leave Taylor's music but have to admit she is very smart and talented. So, time for you to write a country/pop song Joel, since you downloaded those samples :D PS: I noticed the different style in the thumbnail right away and that you remembered to take a photo! Well done graphic design man.

This was really fun to watch!! Taylor always makes me think of the song “22” and the million different YouTubers who covered it at the time. 😆 did you ever cover it too?

Thank youu, love these song analysis videos so much!! Btw I need to nitpick… you misspelt ‘beautiful’ in the bottom sentence of the description 😅 Very true statement though 😎😎

I really enjoyed watching this Joel! I love hearing her more natural southern voice in this song and listening to you do the breakdown of it. I love how wholesome she was during this era as well. Fearless is probably my favorite album from her. Funny I used to sing a few songs from the album when I used to karaoke and drink apple juice! All of the tracks on the album are amazing. Looking forward to you doing a breakdown of You Belong With Me! Thank you Joel!

oh it’s the way i haven’t listened to this in over a decade but could still sing every word! like that “this love is difficult but it’s-a re-eal” sent me straight back to 2009🥹 also btw colbie caillat is pronounced cal-ay and it’s funny you mention her since she co-wrote and did backing vocals for taylor’s song breathe also off fearless! also also the song calling and not calling my ex by okkervil river is literally about what you said at the end where you breakup and then your ex gets famous lol love these deep dives, happily looking forward to the next one!☺️

Swiftie here! I Cant wait to watch😍

J, romance is different than love. As love is alive, so is romance. I understand how it's hard to trust, but love and romance is possible. Separate from what has happened to what can happen....what will happen. Love, romance is out there, it WILL come. That is where you need to focus. You are so talented and the music you will make needs this aspect. It makes all anyone does so much better. I hope you understand.✌️❤️😂

It's adorable how much you love this song

Oh Joel, this video is straight 🔥🔥🔥! Your enthusiasm, it’s just so contagious! It 1000% makes this video, frfr I’m old and missed most of the 2000s musically (busy being a mom, and other boring stuff), and while I’m sure I’ve heard this song, your deep dive made me totally love it. I never really got into Taylor, though I respected her talent, especially so young. You often extend my musical boundaries and I adore that about you. ❤️ I hope this video, and others like it, do really, really well because I so thoroughly enjoy them. It’s been a sh+t day, but now I’m ending it with a smile on my face, thank you 💕
