Anna

I know the rap part for Michael Jackson’s black or white. 😂 There are way too many songs that had a huge impact on me to list but that was definitely one of them.

Dorie

Love this song and love this rap. That was adorable. ❤️

Mari

All this tells me is that you should start doing covers again 😋 As for songs that impacted me? Basically all of Linkin Park's discography, but mostly Hybrid Theory and Meteora as those two albums really, really helped me deal with the struggles I faced in high school and the lyrics sort of making me realize I'm not alone in feeling this way.

Kinga Konyecsik

My song would be the one and only Bohemian Rapsody. It was the first time that I loved music what my dad did. I think he really enjoyed teaching his teen girl about Queen. ❤️

Tonya Davis

A song that has really impacted me probably has the most ridiculous lyrics ever. It called “You Can’t Rollerskate in a Buffalo Herd,” and I listen to it when things seem impossible. I feel it’s about overcoming odds that seem insurmountable.

Dannielle O'Neill

This made me smile 😃 . Thank you so much. YAS! And THIS is what I pay for! /Gen We all know the raps. For some of us, It's just whether or not we want to risk looking silly. And will always listen to Joel sing. Always. Day. Made.

Alle Engdahl

That made me smile so hard! SO many songs that impacted me…child Alle was influenced by a lot of 90’s country. I also did a musical theater summer camp growing up, so a lot of the songs we used for that stick with me. It’s a wide variety of genres there hahaha. :)

Kat

Lol. That was so much fun to watch. 😊 I wanna jam with my friends. Song that impacted me: lol. Maybe I was a stereotypical emo kid, but I am 100% serious when I say "Welcome to the Black Parade" changed my entire life. I would never have gotten into making music and songwriting without that song. Will still unironically jam to it any time. 💜

Bookdragon 43

Love this song and your rap!! Thanks for making my day so much better🎵💗👏💖

Jaime

My musical impact varies from Elvis to Marylin Manson lol. This song is one of my favourites of all time though and love the fact you know the rap. Would you think about rapping more in your new stuff?

emy

So good! And I love Chance! I remember my 2 favourite CD’s to steal from my older brother were the Offspring one and Radiohead’s Ok Computer. ‘Paranoid Android’ had the biggest impact. It’s kind of like ‘Bohemian Rhapsody,’ with those 3 or 4 loosely connected parts. It blew my mind that a bunch of ingredients that didn’t strictly make sense together could resonate so hard emotionally. I remember it as the first time I felt that magic.

Cas

Yeah - singing with Chance - great! Songs for me - Daydream Believer by the Monkees, Cowboy in the Jungle by Jimmy Buffet, I Take My Chances by Mary Chapin Carpenter all for various reasons

Sara Sternberg

Seeing the Green Day American Idiot tour inspired me to start drumming - I was just mesmerised watching Tre' play so that had an impact. As an adult The Wall album by Pink Floyd really resonates with me.

Whit-EbullientShrub

This clip reminded me of that one part of Harold and Kumar when they're singing Hold On by Wilson Phillips together😂 I love it!!

Shauna

Who I Am -Nick Jonas Maybe -Kelly Clarkson When You Look Me in the Eyes -Jonas Brothers Heart Attack -demi lovato Same old love -selena gomez Say when -the fray How you remind me -nickelback Over you -daughtry Unreachable -ashlee simpson Don’t Preach -Drake Bell A lot of these i would just have on rotation/repeat. Few deep cuts in there too that i haven’t listened to in a sec.

Sarah Faire

I'd say Bastille's music speaks to me the most, and in impact, the line from The Weight of Living Part 1 when he sings "It's the sun in your eyes" over and over in this swelling crescendo; it really made me hopeful in a pretty dark time in my life.

Sarah Faire

Also gonna sit here and pretend like I didn't get the lyrics to that rap wrong this entire time. Nope. That didn't happen at all.

Stacy Payette

Such a fun video. Thanks! The song that impacted me the most? "I don't want to miss a thing" -Aerosmith I asked my husband to pick our wedding song. He told me he found a new Aerosmith song that he liked. I told him that Steven Tyler is NOT going to sing the song for our first dance, until I heard it. It was perfect! 💜

Laurel Pekarske

oh oof songs that are impactful to me i literally wrote an essay about this when i was in high school. i guess the big ones are sweet baby james by james taylor, lazy eye by silversun pickups, digital love by daft punk, and walk away by ben harper. and a lot of the darkness’s early stuff

N. wondering

Right now I would say: All of Me - Tanlines, Beautiful Mess - Anton Yelchin/Rudderless and Bend & Break - Keane

xtina 🖤

I loved the video and bonus! I also really enjoy Chance! You both are fun together!

loonylovesgood

Ok, so my dance class did a routine to this song and that’s all I can see in my head when I hear this. 😂 Great rapping!!

Sigga

The song that has had one of the biggest impact on me is Monty Python's Always Look on the Bright Side of Life. The lyrics are so spot on. 'Some things in life are bad They can really make you mad Other things just make you swear and curse When you're chewing on life's gristle Don't grumble, give a whistle And this'll help things turn out for the best' No matter how bad things are in life, this song always makes me smile.

Magalie Leplus

For me it was many of queen's songs. And also Numb by Linkin Park later.

Becky Lorion

Yessss rap that fire dude 🔥🔥

Alle Engdahl

Okay I was listening to the Hanson song mentioned in the main vid, and it totally reminded me of Bob Seger for some reason. He was the main “road trip” music growing up so another impactful bit of music for me :)

Shannon Kraushaar

This is me with “Shoop” every time - “I KNOW THIS WHOLE RAP!!!”

Phoebe Grint

I loved your rap, but I like more when you sing Brick by boring brick. That rap reminds of a song in Spanish from the 90's of which I also know the rap (Mis ojos lloran por ti). Some songs that had an impact on me were Rock DJ by Robbie Williams, My immortal by Evanescence and Losing grip by Avril Lavigne 🙃

Courtney Walker

Catch My Breath - Kelly Clarkson I'm Finally Me - Laura Marano The Middle - Jimmy Eat World These are just a few songs I had on a playlist that helped me a few years ago when I went through a rough patch with my parents. I love that music can touch you in such a personal way and it can give you a newfound confidence or perspective in life.

Ornela

That was so perfect.

Cheekii

one of the biggest songs that I still go back to now and never gets old to me is ‘too close for comfort - mcfly‘ its such an intresting song with all the feels…just epic

Veronika Troll

I loved today's video and this too! Thank you :)

Clair (Teampanda)

Funny because last night I was watching Top of the Pops 1990 and Vanilla Ice came on (not a fan but go with me on this). I was one of 4 girls who loved singing/dancing and basically copying popular songs dance moves and then performing them in assembly (hard to believe I was an extrovert back then.) We did the whole Ice Ice Baby, with rap and inappropriate dance moves in assembly lmao 🤣 I did the rap part with my purple and black hooded top and bottoms and my brothers baseball hat on sideways! So I'm sat with my partner smiling at all the old songs we remember and this comes on and I bust out all the lyrics and rap, I might of done the dance moves if I was in better shape 😂😂 The things we did as kids!

Elke

So a list of songs that impacted me, Spice Girls and Backstreet Boys are basically childhood memories as well. Probably a lot that I’ve forgotten about as well :) Leonard Cohen - Take This Walz/First We Take Manhattan Bryan Ferry - Dance Away TLC - Chasing Waterfalls Hanson - MMMbop (one of my first singles) Faithless - Insomnia Babylon Zoo - Spaceman The Prodigy - Firestarter Bomfunk MC’s - Freestyler Silverchair - Freak (had a bit of a teen crush on their singer) Aaliyah - Are You That Somebody Live - The Dolphin’s Cry Metallica - S&M (I had the videotape and would drive my parents insane watching it) Linkin’ Park And that’s where it all went downhill and I dived deep into metal. Nowadays I like bands like Nightwish, Kamelot and Arch Enemy. But I still like a good pop song too. A good song is a good song, no matter the genre.

Oh and Pretty Fly (For A White Guy) was also a song I used to enjoy :)

Magalie Leplus

Oh and i forgot to mention two songs that impact me in 2020-2021, when i fou.d them, " living for that " and " i'm not dead " and i'm not joking here. 💖

Kellie Clark

One of my many songs that has a huge impact on me is by VAST ''Touched''. Discovering this song in my college days opened me up to liking a wider range of music genres. The combination of the gradual build from the gentle vocals and guitar to the heavier guitar I think is music brilliance ❤️

AncientDragon

I loved every minute of this! Rapping and singing in one video, that's just made my day! I really love when you rap, Rapping without the letter E is one of my all time favourite video and rap-doodle(?) from you. :]

Dorie

BTW, awesome transition to that falsetto note. 😍

Victoria

Hm? The songs that impacted me..Marilyn Mason- The beautiful People, I used to Mosh with my dad singing it😂. Avril Lavigne- Fall to Pieces and last Smile Empty Soul- Silhouettes, due to the lyrics are like my own life. Those are 3 of the millions I like and connect with especially listening to Pop, pop punk, rock, metal, emo, rap, country from 80s to now lol.
