Hey gang,

Decided I really like the topline "so selfish" I posted here a while back, so I started producing it more properly. Have a listen to the old version vs the new one (second half of this audio file. Quite a difference huh :P

Gonna be re-recording vocals and changing some melodies and stuff, adding more stuff etc. Excited about this one!

I really like it... sounds amazing

Airyckah Lane

I like where this is going! Thank you for this preview!

Stephanie Bruso

We are also excited about the new song 🎵

Shauna

Holy cow yeah that’s a huge difference!! I’m glad you’re getting into producing again. :)

Anna

Wait, so the first part with vocals was the old one and the instrumental was the new?

Juniper loo

Big difference! I like where it's going

Kat

Ooooooh! This viiiiiibes! 😍😍😍 That music break! 🥰 I kinda want a little more in the bottom of the bum-bubum bum-bum buuum bum-bum part. I cannot wait to hear more of what you've done with this one! 😁 Well done!

Courtney Walker

Love the synths. Love the direction you're going!

Thanks! I thought so and I thought I heard the difference but I wasn’t confident. 😂

Jessistache_73

This this so dope!!! I know it's a before and after but it sounds so nice together. Almost like a really cool breakdown of the song or bridge. Really loving the direction you're going 😍

DiamondK Zee

Thank you for sharing! Sounds great!

Phoebe Grint

Oh! I really really like the updated version, I'm so excited to hear the whole song when you finish it 🤩🤩🤩

Anna

Okay now that I know what’s going on😂…I really like the new production. It gives it a more hyped up feel. I had a hard time actually hearing it but I felt it? That sounds weird.

Cas

Thanks Joel. I love how excited you are about the new music. I may be in the minority and a bit pushy, but I would appreciate a Lens now and then as well. <3

Sarah Faire

Got kinda that dark pop sound that was big in the 80s (and therefore sounds kinda 80s in the best way). Love it!

Becky Lorion

I love where this is going! It’s so great that you’re experimenting with your music and standing out from the usual crowd of what’s out there.

Suzanne Collins

Thank you Joel for the update on the song progress… it’s sounding amazing!! Also love that you’re producing more and can’t wait to hear the final version :)

loonylovesgood

Cool! You and Daniel should write a song together on your synths!

Anna

Honestly it was pretty clear but I’m just a dum dum who can’t hear. :)

Mari

OH wow I'm super into the production instrumentally. I'm not sure how I feel about "so selfish" being sung in a higher key/octave(?) because I really like the deeper vocals in the rest of it. I'm not sure how it would work sung lower though meep Edit: Okay so listening to this a few more times and hearing that heavy 80s inspo especially with the synth, maybe just maybe (this could be the worst idea ever) try doing "so selfish" in a Depeche Mode type way like "Personal Jesus" JUST THROWING IT OUT THERE

Dannielle O'Neill

THAT is a MOOD! Definitely a move in a good direction! Love where you're going! Thanks for sharing ❤

Jaime Barry

I really like where you're going with this one!

Shannon Kraushaar

There’s a dark-ish tone to this that’s sick. Definitely worth the effort of polishing this Doodle.

CK DeP

Heyy Joel, how are you doing, much support from Arizona :) Absolutely loving these types of productions and song demos , such! Learning sooo much from ya Joel! Thx sm for this!🙂💗👍🎶🎼🎵 I hope that you can see, read, maybe reply to me lol

CK DeP

Is this like an tester/teaser/sneak peek at what's to come maybe for your album your working on? Or was/is this just an random song you decided to have, share with us. Or is it an mixture of both lol

Helga 🦊

Not my favourite but I guess it doesn’t matter. You do you anyway. Have you worked more with “I Don’t Know What I’m Doing” or you’ve changed your mind and left it behind?

CK DeP

Is your demos/snippets that you post on here, is that just for us to hear it is it bc of your process of making your album? It's an interesting/amazing to hear the differences in each one of demos, rough cuts, snippets, to see how it's in production amd steps of being mixed or something. I'm very much into that stuff lol call me an music nerd but whateves I love it! Especially when coming from an songwriter myself lol, trying to produce my own music but it's very hard for me to get my music out anywhere cause I'm not at all in any music business/industry's,etc. Any tips, advice that you can give me for producing my own music, like the beats, (I have sorta an older verison laptop but I don't think it can even take an editing, vocal programs of any sorts without crashing or causing it to have anti-viruses on my laptop) If you see this, please help, give me some tips, advice, feedback, would love to hear your thoughts on it. 🙂🎶🎼🎵👍

CK DeP

Idk why tho I am liking towards this "dark-ish" tones and such!!! Sooo sick that you can do this Joel!! Really digging this!!!👍🙂

Laurel Pekarske

i feel so weird in this sea of comments bc everyone’s like “ooh this synth is cool” or talking about the keys and stuff and i’m always just like “i like the thing-thing that makes your voice sound like that”

Magdalena Slodczyk

It's groove yet still so dark-ish. I love how I'm already listening to this on repeat. 🤩 (I even hear "dark-ish" the same way you sing "selfish") 😅

PhantomFidget

* Sounds Familiah/Relatable Noises * 🐺🐾

Brandt

Fun to hear the difference in the production! Great song!

Sofía Reyes

Wow! This sounds really awesome! Contrats for your huge talent and beautiful personality.

Lisa Jasperson

I love this one I think it’s my faves over the ones you’ve posted before! I like all of them but this one is real saucy

Sheena Stewart

Love the new version as it feels lighter and would contrast better with the lyrics. The sample is becoming an ear worm so can't to hear the full song. 😊

Elke

Your vocals are becoming so smooth and I’m here for it. This sounds awesome.

Elke

Also it’s fun to hear the difference between the ‘rawer sketch’ and the bit that’s more polished and ‘round’. A lot more oompf to it imho. I like it.

Jade Ballengee

It's great! I was waiting for a rap to come in when you stopped singing, that would sound great with this.

Paloma Tokio

This is lit 🔥🔥🔥 I see myself hearing this in the street, in the car, in the room, everywhere. It matches any situation.❤️👌

x0_Kristin_0x

Glad your enjoying the process ☺️

Hii Joel! How are you doing! Idk if ya see this, but if ya ever do , sup lol Umm idk what else to say um yeah lol tho I do need to ask you something tho, just not sure how to ask you on here , I'm still learning about using Patreon lol so idk if there's any way to message you or something so it's not directly into your post comments lol It's obviously nothing bad or anything gross or anything lol just needs an little advice, help , thoughts on something. Some of it is for video ideas but not sure how to say it lol If ya ever see , read this, please reply to me to let me know. 👍🙂

Hi Joel, I don't know if you're going to receive this message comment at all or get thru to you at all, or if it does hopefully you'll see it, hopefully can help me. Why can I not make a post on here? Not for comments coz I can certainly do comments on here lol but whenever I feel like I wanna say something on my own post to get to your comment page section. I write it all down and then I push the post button above, and it's not at all letting me post it, why's that? Did I do something wrong? I can write things down in the make a post but when once I'm done I hit the post button above top right corner on my phone screen and it doesn't do anything doesn't publish anything I'm saying. What's going on. Am I doing something wrong, or have I done something wrong. It never has been done this me before now I can't post anything. The the post sign is red , is that a sign, clue for something or is that the color it's always been , I just never noticed or realized it until now.
