Content

hey gang, revisiting a lot of the content strategy right now, and wanted your input. What are some things you'd be excited to see? Brainstorm freely, as I mentioned we're looking at starting at least a couple new channels so we/I could do anything!

Comments

Tonya Davis

I really loved the behind the scenes of the songwriting challenges.

loonylovesgood

Is this for Patreon content or public content?

Airyckah Lane

More Patreon interaction… it would be cool to have a way to anonymously submit questions (no limits of type) and have your team vet them and then you do like a q&a with them… or eat an olive for the ones you don’t wanna answer… This could be a fun way to “get to know you” and promote Patreon Especially since not everyone can make it to m&gs and/or are to shy to talk

Maria B

In-depth breakdowns of songs. I love it when you get analytical about music, what works, what doesn’t work… and the dynamics between the three of you is excellent having different takes on it, but it’s way too short most often.

Sofía Reyes

The song challenges, the live streams where you work in the productions of yours songs (like "So selfish) and SIOR.

AnovaSig

Bring 👏back 👏SIOR 👏

Dannielle O'Neill
>>93230649

This would be a thing you can do on Twitch and then make that content into videos for yt. Which would be a good way to promote twitch. Kill a few birds with one stone.

Helga 🦊

I really like songwriting challenges, singing videos (mashups, levels etc), of course as a memer I’d appreciate something like SIOR. What I’d like to learn from you is how to find your audience on YouTube, how YouTube algorithm works, marketing/sponsors/promotions and how it works on YouTube. What I’m tired of now is the same content (commentary only ) on the main channel. It would be nice to have some variety 😅 Thank you for taking into consideration any of the above thoughts 😊

Jessistache_73

I really enjoyed the videos you made challenging the fans (e.g., making songs with the Wii theme or remixing your "bad" singing to sound good) and the one where you fix your fans songs. I guess I just like watching you interacting with fans. And I think you liked the camaraderie too. I also think it was cool that you stimulated creativity in others by making fun and silly challenges :)

missysue4851

Making your own mashups, team made instrument/music related challenges or quizzes, document your song writing process for a song from start to finished product. I do like when you talk about in-depth "nerd" music stuff so anything you could teach us about songwriting or music production.

xtina 🖤

I really liked the researched videos where you would use green screen and talk with Jonas, like the kid singers one, and I love all of your singing- original songs and song mashups, or mix it up with a music experiment or commentary by doing bloggy type things in the same video. sing on your streams or on omegle lol? I also sent ya a video suggestion of indie pop rock vs mainstream. Invite other artists to sing or song write or commentary together. Just some ideas to throw out there. Have fun!

Dannielle O'Neill

I love the songwriting videos. Also, I really love hearing the more nerdy stuff. Ik you shy away from that on the main channel so as not to alienate folks, but there IS an audience for your big brain too! 🧠

Vikki

It would be cool to see yall teach how to use music programs

Stephanie Bruso

-Taylor Swift’s Midnights reactions - more note taking videos (I love taking notes with you Joel) - you still have my email ideas as well

Vikki
>>93230869

And make it interactive with the community, like give "homework"

Dannielle O'Neill
>>93230465

It would be fun to have a challenge where Patrons could judge. Like, make the songs. Post just the songs on here for votes and comments. The interaction will show in the video and ppl will eat that up, I think. Maybe a logistical nightmare, so ignore if it is.

Aubrey Danielle

I really miss the songwriting videos (like, the longer ones - where you show the process & even random vlogging is fun) and maybe even more music-making basics? Like, you, Jonas, and August take different parts of a video to show the basics…or maybe that would be better for a course idk 😂 Maybe a more “Joel” focused channel that can have more random stuff as you get inspiration. Like when you mentioned in M&G about doing a challenge with Chance & Avery. Could be fun on that type of channel. Maybe SIOR could live on that channel too? Cause we all MISS it lol I mean, you could do a rating vegan candy video and I’d watch 😂 That’s all I got for now 🤣👌🏻

loonylovesgood

For content in general: I think some fun, creative challenges would be interesting (an Escape Room with music clues! Music scavenger hunt!). For Patreon: Behind the scenes clips and maybe some fun discussion threads.

Jessistache_73
>>93230756

I'd also like to add that I'd love some gaming content if that is something you're interested in. I'd love to watch you have fun! You could stream that and make a highlight video for YouTube? And if you're feeling really spicy, maybe you can game with fan or patrons 👀

Vikki
>>93230869

yeaa like people can post their "homework" on all social medias showing what they learned. Not like a every other day type of vid but yee

Roomie
>>93230671

I'm pretty sure I want a personal channel for interacting with you guys, where I'll talk about topics etc

Roomie
>>93230749

One of the things we're considering is pulling back on the amount of commentary videos on the main channel, with the one we actually make having more surprising moments and more curation by us, and take the extra time to focus on other channels and content like levels of singing

Roomie
>>93230756

For sure! Planning a channel that's all about interacting, but it's a good point to maybe get that onto the other channels sometimes as well

Roomie
>>93230775

Thanks! Those are definitely the things we're considering more. I think having the team and wanting everyone to have constant work became a bit limiting over time, together with noticing that commentary does so much better than most other stuff on the main. But with other channels as well we should be able to do more interesting stuff!

Helga 🦊
>>93230749

Thank you 😊 Hopefully it will work for the best for you and your team 🤞🏼

MediocreAtBest

Miss the songwriting challenges, both the newer concept vs the boys and the older version where the community would get a prompt and a week (?) to create something. Was fun to see both what the community and you came up with. Also enjoy when the deeper talks on music. Would be interesting to see 1 of the 3 bring forward a song they love and try to sing it's praises to the others (and not just August on defense). Or whatever was mentioned the other stream on bringing forward good new music, but i disagree that all 3 of you need to think it's good. Think music related things could be kept on main channel, just peppered into the current commentary on a schedule.

Vikki
>>93230869

That would be dope, especially seeing others participate in it

loonylovesgood
>>93231090

I wrote down more stuff on Insta and YT and now I can’t remember what all I said. 🤪

Dannielle O'Neill

In non-music-centric land...Try new foods, cook stuff, learn a weird skill (like a quick thing, not like carpentry or anything lol). If you want it to have a hint of music, maybe stuff like...songs about food, other things specific artists can do/ have done.

Cas

I'd like to see more involvement with chat in the videos. It is not only fun to be part of that but to see how it is incorporated into the final results. Maybe a contest with chat or games that can be done through chat that involve music, etc. And, I love the contests with the 3 Swedes but an occasional guest would also be nice. Glad you are considering more songwriting but don't forget about singing. We miss hearing you sing and now Jonas and August could be included.

Jessistache_73

Alright, I'm gonna say it: I also *really* want another swedish week. But this time for an actual week!

Misty Gerkman

Yes swedish week or day! We can learn swedish 😀

Dannielle O'Neill

Seems redundant, but just to throw in... Don't go balls to the wall and work too hard. We'll watch whatever you decide to do. (*cough cough* IKEA manual 😂) But we want to see you doing happy and healthy. ❤️ *mom rant over* lol

naschpanda

I really like those videos where you can get very nerdy about music like the one you made with Daniel Thrasher about the top 5 Spotify songs. Also I like any kind of challenge videos.. either you guys challenge each other or you challenge us. SIOR would be great for more community interaction. For Patreon: More of you and your team talking about music or whatever you like. Kinda like that one podcast episode you did or what you're doing on the Twitch streams but with other members of the team as well. Would be nice to get to know you all a bit more.

loonylovesgood
>>93232153

Agree about getting the other members of the team on there! MARIO KART TOURNAMENT PLEASE!

Dorie

For the music channel, can we vote on which song(s) from the previous songwriting challenges we’d like seen turned into full length songs? I’d definitely like to see more singing and would love to see you guys do your own mashups as well.

Maya

I would definitely like to see SIOR again and I also like your idea to make commentary videos that are not only music related. And I would love to see you singing more - covers, 10 most popular songs, singing in different styles (AFK Arena Song), singing 16 levels of songs, collaborations (I love your videos with Nate and Gabe, or CG5, or Jax...). You laugh you lose was really funny (maybe with Daniel, Chance, Jiva, Rikard... ), etc. Or maybe sometimes vlogs. And somebody in the comments sad: For Patreon - behind the scenes. I agree. Love BTS from your challenge with Daniel and Jack or from Living in 3rd person.

Karmas05

More singing/ making music videos, sior, you laugh you lose some stories videos.... challenges.

Dorie

Now that you have Twitch, you can do more We Make Lyrics better and let chat vote on if we think they’re better or not.

Clair (Teampanda)

No particular order... • 16 levels - You are the goat of 16 levels do more pls! • You laugh, you lose (olive eating edition is always fun!) • Reacts to..... Tik Toks, other YT channels, new music videos etc.. • You vs another YT or group of friends playing Fall Guy/Among Us/GTA races • Challenge videos - music, comedy, exercise. • SIOR obvs... or any dodgy deep dive into a Reddit Community! • Music collabs and nerdy music stuff. • Vlogs - Day in the life or trips to new places... See Felix's new Vlogs they are great. These could be kept to Patreon exclusive lenses or short story reels. I don't really mind as long as I see you smiling and happy, just be you! X

A009

I really like the timed composing challenges with Jonas and August. Maybe you could include Jax, if she were available.? With penalties and rewards? Something like that. You are doing great and I know there are thousands that feel that way too., keep it up. Maybe some more Billie Eilish?

Sigga

I would love to see more of the dark sarcastic scandinavian humour. When I watch old Roomie videos my go-to videos to start a 'Roomie video marathon' are always 'DISNEY SONGS but they're SAD' and 'All my weird singing experiments... Compilation' Devil's Advocate series is hilarious, and the same goes for the 'Stories' playlist on your channel. I would also want to see more videos where you sing - singing medley videos are always fun. I love 'Singing without real words' and 'Rewind: Top 10 songs 2021' - it would be fun to get medleys with the top 10 songs of each decade starting with the 60's.

Kate Quantrell

The interactions with Jonas and August are great. Would love to hear you guys sing more.

Sugary Magnolia

I miss the storytelling videos like the one about music school. It's fun and interesting, plus the stick figure legs and ridiculous animations were pretty hilarious. It would be fun to hear stories about growing up in Sweden, how you met your friends, etc - not anything really personal, just anecdotal stories.

Calize

I think you have to do whatever brings in the money… if commentary videos are what work on YouTube, find a fun way to do that and do some other stuff on the side. A paid music course is fine, but I think if people have to pay more for everything, they might not be interested. And as others have said, we (on Patreon) will watch anything you do anyway 🤷🏼‍♀️

Kinga Konyecsik

I could reply almost every comment that 'I' d love that'. But if you are considering a music course, you could do something for the absolute noobs too, like me. I mean I love hearing/seeing you go music nerd, but I would like to understand it. 😅

Cheekii

I love the levels videos, they are so good. Probably a lot of work though. I also loved the songwriting videos that had all the details and infos on how the writing went and all that. I also super loved the challenges back in the days were you wrote songs in 60 minutes for example. I agree with the others though: I would watch anything basically

Gary Wielenbeck

i want to see more from lil pitchy. i started fallowing you because of your voice and music. i want to hear you sing more.

Brandt

I would love to see more remakes of songs, I love your take on them. And also more song writing challenges! More of you singing in general all though I like you and the team reacting to music too

Kayla Jones

I'd love to see more song writing challenges and more singing voices videos 😃

JustSomeJK

So many good ideas have already been mentioned, so sorry if I repeat something 😅 I always want to hear you, Jonas and August sing more of course 😍 16 levels videos are so good and funny. I don't know if you would want to play around with Lil Pitchy songs in that concept, but one can dream 😁 My favorites have also been the 2 guys singing 6-10 songs, so how about 3 guys (you, Jonas, August) singing 6-10 songs 🙂 Then if you would feel comfortable singing TOP 5 songs from your own Spotify playlist or songs that are meaningful to you some way, that could be sior topic as well..It would also be fun to hear you, Jonas and August singing/listing your go to songs or earworms, that you guys sing often at home when feeling like singing..If you have such 😄 For those who are noobs, it could be fun to see video where you have listed songs that ain't vocally challenging and having you guys break it down why so..You laugh You loose videos are hilarious and quiz videos are fun to "participate" in 😁 Then that vegeterian burger test with Chance would be entertaining and if you haven't cooked anything in your kitchen yet, then popping the cherry of that one could be fun to watch, could be nice comedy piece 😋 I have also liked the short comedy videos a lot 😊 Then one more weird idea came to my mind, remix videos of bloopers or you guys laughing (you guys have such nice and many times melodic laughters), perhaps with some added music for patrons 😁

Luna

Since I also enjoy the fact that some german Youtubers have gone from "permanent high quality content" to "having fun with friends/their team" more often, I could very well imagine that you and your team add in some of these games and challenges too. Something like "never have I ever" or "who am I" or smaller challenges (similar to you laugh you lose, but more varitation - I could tell you a lot of examples from the german Youtube scene but I guess you have them over there too :p) I really love these videos as well, very entertaining. Especially for old-established gang. It would be very nice to hear you guys covering each other's songs in you own style. Of course, it would also be exciting if you release songs toghether - either seriously or with funny challenges like: you all have a melody/sample and everyone has to write a part of the lyrics without knowing what the others write about, listen to the results afterwards... :D I'd also love it when you keep testing new instuments. There are a lot of instuments that deserve to pass through your magical hands :p and there are very special, unsusual ones, would be very interesting. Since I'm a HUGH fan of "Lost It All" with Custom Phase, I would love to see you collaborate with other musicians/Youtubers for songs in their genres/a comination of you styles. (I want more songs like "Lost It All"...) I agree with the others that it would be cool to challenge your community - in different things, not only musically. *-* In general, I like to see you having fun with music cause it inspires me a lot to go on with it myself. :3 And I really enjoy all the fun, humorous things. I rarely laugh as much as I do with your videos. :D

loonylovesgood

One more thing to add. I’d love to see more deep dives into artists. Maybe some more pop divas like Mariah, Celine and looking at their long careers. Or taking a look at songs that were popular outside the US and why they never made it big in the US. I find it interesting that a lot of European songs made it big in Canada as well but not in our neighbour to the south (and vice versa. Still surprised you had heard of Marianas Trench in Sweden).

MediocreAtBest
>>93231980

Yesss! 🇸🇪 Would be fun for y'all to (try) to cook stuff for Chance to try. Or vs Chance, but he has to read the recipe in Swedish.

Danielle Hill

I really like the “learning” type videos. A deep dive into a particular song, the artist, their vocal technique, and the music behind it to formulate a hit song.

Arinion

Try to make a song with someone that never made a song before. Maybe even make a competition from it

Ricky Reid

I have noticed that you all have very different tastes in music you like Pop, August likes Indie and Jonas likes well I'm not sure what he likes :P . But I would like to see comparisons between different types of Music say compare a Pop singer with a metal singer like Taylor Swift with Floor Jansen that sort of thing.

Kayla

I think there is potential for a podcast series where Joel talks to a guest about their most significant experience involving music.

Bookdragon 43

I would love to see you all do more songwriting challenges!! Maybe you could do a gaming channel where you , Jonas and August compete against each other. That would be awesome!! I would like to see a channel where you focus on a various bands\singers and your favorite songs by them. Maybe you could focus on their songwriting abilities and their music production techniques. Another idea could be a channel in which you could explain various music terms\techniques. I really enjoy music but I do not have a lot of knowledge about specific music terms.🙂🎵

Lisa Hontschik

I live and die for Joel singing anything, anytime. I also love the ‘learning’ type stuff as well, so when Joel just casually turns to the keyboard a d explains the note and gives us a little riff. Perfection. I’m super happy to see reaction videos back, as they are just super fun, and loving Jonas and August in there. Would also love some guests in this format, like Daniel Thrasher and other cool collabs. Honestly, I just love watching you, Joel. You make me happy, you crack me up, and I feel like a proud mama bear with everything you do (I’m old 😋).

Julie A

I love movie and tv show reactions, but I know they're a dime a dozen. I do think you guys could bring a whole new dimension to them, though, with your unique chemistry and humor. Also, longer form music/song reactions from genres you don't usually listen to -- or think your fans don't -- like 70s groups, singer-songwriters you're not familiar with, etc. I know these are kind of boring ideas, but people love them. I love them. And I'd love to see you do them.

Jennifer Mendez

I loved the song writing contests you guys did! 😁

Gayle

Everyone has wonderful ideas, cudos to all. My vote, suggestions are the mashups, playful competitions(song writing/laugh, lose/spin a wheel for country and native instrument and write a song/gaming(like when will you play some more Minecraft and give us another Minecraft song(please, pretty please with a cherry on top)/guess song, movie it's from, play it's from, game, anime, or TV show/how about a part of a picture to guess artist?/compare an artist's most popular to least popular, and critically acclaimed song/game challenge riddles to describe current popular songs. That's all I can think of in this moment. Joel, and crew you all are awesome. Thank you for all the wonderful videos. The sponsor skits are really the best. If you were thinking going there like you did for the singing underwater ....that was lit.

Candyland20bp1

I would like to see a reaction to jordan witzigreuter but im biased lol

Elke

Would love to see more ‘nerdy’ music related content. Love to see how people work on (& think about) anything between a basic idea and a completed song. Also songwriting challenges, maybe even writing songs together with others (like August, Jonas or ?) if that would be possible. Songwriting ‘with’ the audience could be fun too maybe? Make the files available for download and let people add to it & if you like it, share the outcome/different versions in a video. Using instruments (can you lease/borrow in LA?) you never played and work them into a song. I’m not sure if you’re really into gaming but that could be fun to try. Also diving into certain genres could be fun for a video on one of the other channels. It would probably not do as well as pop content on main, but could be a nice way for others to discover your channel(s).

N. wondering

Learning a jive choreography to the song 'What I like about you' in the 5SOS version. ;)

Luna

YOU SHOULD REACT TO THE MUSIC FROM THE NEW ONE PIECE FILM: RED!! :D i just watched it and i really enjoyed it 🧡

Mari

What do I want to see? You doing whatever makes you the most happy 💛
