Hey Gang,

Just finished up a day of writing and recording. My ambition with this period is to make an album, but I think it’s likely it will end up being an EP as I’m kinda slow and particular about details sometimes, wanna practice the vocals until they’re perfect to me and so on.

The song I worked on today was ”bit by bit”, that I’ve posted clips of here before. I also have many other songs from my Nashville trip and previous sessions.

I know I definitely want to finish ”I don’t know what I’m doing”, and maybe ”Eating Raw Pasta”. What songs have been the most memorable to you that I’ve teased or made versions of so far?

I would like to hear a full version of "Say something " and "I'm not the same " 😊

Airyckah Lane

Selfish!!! And there’s another of yours.. but I’m not sure I’m allowed to say

Sofía Reyes

Hi, Joel! I love all your "teases", but I'm waiting for "So selfish". I think it is one of my favourites!! Greetings from Chile 🥰

Sarah

I'd love full versions of "Leave" and "Best things to happen to me". Also, I think I remember you said you wouldn't finish "Trash together", but maybe if you changed the lyrics a bit you'd be comfortable publishing it?

Magalie Leplus

Hej !!! I'm glad you're taking time for your music. I'm waiting for " so selfish ", it sounds really good. Also one of the song i would like to have a full version is " i wanna be done ", i don't know why but it resonate so much on me. Enjoy your time, see you !

Jen 🦙

Would definitely love to hear the finished version of Selfish, I really enjoy the synth and vocal production, they work so well together! The little updates you post are always enjoyable and I'm really looking forward to hearing the finished article 😊

Clair (Teampanda)

Do you think you'll ever rerelease old songs like Miss You (city lights) with a new vibe? I really love your original EP..maybe it's because I loved McFly and Busted back in the day and you were definitely influenced by them in a few songs?? You could do a Robbie Williams 'Swing when you're winning' style EP but maybe rather than big band you could have yatcht rock???

Magdalena Slodczyk

Man... I just read the "bit by bit" and it's already playing in my head on repeat now xD Thanks... But I'm definitely curious about how it'll turn out! Take as much time as u need man! o7

Yes. "Leave" is such a beautiful song. A full version would be amazing

Stephanie Bruso

I want to hear “Best Thing that Happen to Me”

Becky Lorion

Definitely Selfish! It’s got such a vibe. I was excited to see you working on Bit by Bit though, I remember a portion of that and I loved it. Looking forward to you sharing some of the process!

Stephanie Bruso

You should write a song about losing a friend

Ave Castruita

¡Hola! Definitely looking forward to "Bit by bit" and "Don't know what "I'm doing"... curious about how you wrap up "So selfish". Enjoy this creative time. Saluditos.

Euphorbia

I love one of your older ones, We don't wanna know. Do you plan to release it one day?

loonylovesgood

I really like Not the Same and Leave from the songwriting videos you did, and Don’t Know What I’m Doing from the clips you have posted on here. Looking forward to hearing the progress!

Cas

I'm just happy you are going to finish Eating Raw Pasta! I have looped the demo so many times. I think you are at your best when the music or lyrics have a "twist" to them, a device that makes the song clever and different. Looking forward to see what you create.

Mari

I have a lot of thoughts and will be back when I've articulated them properly lol

xtina 🖤

i liked the one you had previewed before “everywhere with you”, and of course “selfish” and “i don’t know what i’m doing”, of the roomiedemos i love “leave” “65” “not the same” . EP would be excellent , & more singles when ready if album may be too much right now? so excited for the new songs, i love your singing 😍

CK DeP

SO SELFISH definitely!° I wished that you made an fuller version of Taylor Swift's "Anti- hero" really enjoyed that! So Long - idk if you still remember that song you made in your video, it was so short and but yet you said at that time that you were working on it lol plus idk if you have the files for it anymore if not, then if you can try to remember how you made it , beats , etc. And maybe try to re-create it. Your song "Photograph" I would love to see the final & finished product. "65" even tho I guess that was part of a song challenge, and it's on Spotify but I would've liked to hear what the rest of song is or was or even if it became a fuller song or is that it. "Lemme Tell U" both versions I know are on here but are you going to release it anywhere else like Spotify, etc. "Everywhere With You" "I'm Not The Same" - the lyrics , story on this I love , and when you said that you're trying to do something or some things different with your music styles or your voice on vocals , such. I love it when you do different perspectives like these,I would like to see what this song if it ever becomes an fuller version or something. "Leave" - it feels like you made this song by your pasts or something, the story I feel it , it speaks me. I feel like it should definitely have an finished version. "Chariot" - I know it's a cover but you didn't sing or say the last word and in the lyric video on your Roomie Clips channel at the end it says "give me your strength" - the word "strength" you don't say it or it just cuts it right off lol "I Wanna Be Done" - absolutely love this one!! Haha I can even do the "rap" lol it's soo freaking groovy kinda like a bada$$ vibes haha! Wishing there's a fuller version. "Please Say Something" - I wanna hear more of this one! Okay for now I'm done haha!! Sorry if my comment I kinda long! Haha! Let me know what you think of these picks! 🙂👍 @Roomie

Omgg I was just wondering the same thing and was literally just listening back to that song again lol yeah completely agree with you! We needs a release for that song!🙂👍💗

CK DeP
>>99381872

Awee yesss!! Yet another one of those "lost Roomie songs that didn't make it or make the cut or just giving us little tease but won't probs release it" lol haha🙂👍💗😂😂😂😂

CK DeP
>>99379669

Definitely So Selfish! Also idk, depending on what song it is, I guess you can say it lol

I really liked “Giving In” from the sing-a-long challenge video a lot. “Leave” is another favorite. Do ya think full-length or remastered versions of those songs will make an appearance on the album/EP set list?

Courtney Walker

"Everywhere With You" and "So Selfish" are both amazing - definitely those two!

Dorie

I’d love to hear more of “Leave”, “Everywhere With You” and “65”.

Maya

Oh, I really liked "bit by bit" and "So Selfish". And when you mentioned "Eating Raw Pasta" I also liked "Burn" (challenge with Daniel)

Luna

I don't know what I'm doing! I really liked that one!

JustSomeJK

Most memorable is "So Selfish" for sure! I got excited to hear the rest of it straight away, so groovy and 🔥. I like those three a lot, that u already mentioned that u wanna work with. Then there is "Leave", that has such a beautiful lyrics 🥰 I'm also sucker for the type of sweet lyrics that u have on "Everywhere with you". Then I like the edgy lyrics on "Oh summer". "Please say something" hit me hard with the lyrics and made me cry, so that's why it's memorable to me 😅 But maybe not something you would want on your album 😂 "Lemme tell you" has interesting melody and "Keys to your car" got me interested to hear what that could be as a full song. Also the "Not the same" is good... But you do you and what feels right to you, it's your art 😊

JustSomeJK
>>99386533

Yeah Eating raw pasta is so catchy and fun, even though it has sadness in the lyrics. I totally agree with that "twist" in the lyrics and clever song part.

emy

Might be random but ‘Used’ was also really fun. I know you abandoned it pretty quickly because of the ‘Stay’ sounds, but your own melodies in that song are gems. So catchy.

Are you turning into a Simp? 😆 Am I rubbing off on you? My plan is working 😅🙌🏼🔥🔥

Stephanie Bruso

“Eating Raw Pasta” yeah I don’t remember that one? 🧐

Helga 🦊

Yay! 👏🏼I’m so happy that you’re working on “Bit by bit” and hopefully “Idk what I’m doing” because those two are actually my favourite and the ones I definitely remember 😁 Also I really like “Please say something” from the songwriting video too 🧡

Bookdragon 43

So Selfish, Please Say Something and Not The Same. These are my favorite pieces\parts of songs that you have created.💟💖🎶👏

Kathell

I would really like to see if you would change anything with numb. I absolutely love this song and think with your talents you could take it to the next level.

JustSomeJK
>>99416867

I think I can't give u credits this time 😅 I came to the conclusion that I like the music Joel makes all on my own 😂 Was it really that simpy 🫣😅? Don't worry u are still the number one on that category 😆

Aubrey Danielle
>>99416867

Well, you might as well have just said “I like everything you make Joel” 😅😆 It wasn’t that bad tho, I’m just roasting you and yes, I’m the ring leader of Roomie simping 😂💁🏻‍♀️

Emmaline

Cute photo, so about this $5…. 🖤

Lisa Jasperson

“So selfish” and “leave” are such good vibes - I hope you finish both! 😍

JustSomeJK
>>99416867

Well yeah that would have had been the ultimate simp thing to say that "I like everything" without being able to give explanation why 😆 Maybe I got carried away with my list, but still it wasn't everything 😅 Just trying to give my honest opinion 🤷

Mari

I was secretly hoping to get lucky and be able to discuss this with you privately before posting here because I know my thoughts and feelings on this goes against basically everyone else's wants within the community and could be quite spicy 👀🌶️ I want to preface this by saying my opinion is based upon everything you have mentioned about your new music/the EP the past 6 months whether on stream, in lens, Patreon posts, during M&Gs, etc. From what I've gathered, you want to basically reinvent yourself and leave the "Lil Pitchy" monicker in the past, understandably, and release music under yourself or Roomie once more? I don't think you actually told us officially, either way I know you want to be done with Lil Pitchy for sure. I also remember you mentioning you wanted to finish these demos and put them out as a collection of "emo songs" so you can focus on new songs. These demos feel like they would fit better under Lil Pitchy, and I know that isn't your intent for them. Also seeing you mentioned you definitely want to finish "I Don't Know What I'm Doing", maybe just release it as a single and not as part of the EP? I know it's a more recent one and I think it's in a weird limbo where it doesn't really fit in with the older demos, but also doesn't fit with the new Nashville demos either and would potentially be better received on it's own. With all that said, if the goal is to reintroduce yourself as an artist, I think you should just scrap them all (I said what I said 🙈 Maybe "shelving" them is more appropriate? Sometimes it's better to just move on and leave it in the past) and start with the songs you worked on in Nashville. I believe they were the ones you teased on instagram stories back in November(?) that didn't have any lyrics attached yet, were just the music, and were really, REALLY good from what I remember. The EP could be titled something like "Nashville Sessions" and feature all the songs you created/wrote during the week you were there. I believe that would be the best way to reintroduce yourself as they're in align with the direction you want to go in with your music going forward and won't be such a 180 degree switch from the old demos to your future releases. It seems counter productive to release music that isn't your "sound" anymore as your debut and then change it immediately after.. If that makes any sense, I hope it does. I also get the vibe that maybe there's some (huge understatement) obligation to complete these older demo songs because you "owe" it to the community. I say that while I have absolutely zero attachment to these demos and really couldn't care less if they ever see the light of day. I really just want your music (and everything else you do) to be for you, above all else, and what YOU want to release and not be driven by what the community wants you to release, you know? I don't know how you could be happy constantly trying to keep up with the demands of everyone else and I can't imagine any other artist approaching their careers in that way (especially now, when you don't need a label) and it feels very much like that is the case currently (I could be completely wrong about it, but I mean, just read through all the comments above me). It feels as if you're rushing to get them done to work on new songs, but why do that to yourself when you can just dive head first into the new ones, now? Anyways, that's my take. 💛

I kinda trust that Joel as a smart guy knows what he's doing with his art and what's best for him. I agree that he shouldn't please the community when creating his path as an artist. He should do whatever makes him happy and what takes him forward with his dreams and goals in life. And takes in whatever he thinks is valuable from the opinions here or wipes his butt with them, it's all good 😊 I think that many people here just answered the question about what was the most memorable demos/teased songs etc. At least I'm not trying to demand any of my favorites to be finished, if they aren't in line with what Joel wants from his music 😅, even though I might wish that I could hear some of them finished, because I genuinely liked them 😊 I'm not in Instagram yet, so I don't know what the Nashville stuff sounded like, or if any of the old demos were worked on during that session, or if it's totally different from the previous music. But I can't wait to hear whatever music Joel decides to publish 💙😊 I'm pretty sure everyone here wants Joel to be happy and succeed in whatever he decides to do 😊 And omg do I sound like a simp, but this is just my opinion 😅

I like your spicy hot take; it’s relevant, honest, constructive, logical, and valid. You make a fair point: rehashing the past IS often counterproductive to moving forward with the goal of reinvention, so why NOT start fresh? I think as long as it all flows with a certain theme or vibe and also matches with the new persona he’s going for, it couldn’t hurt to have “old” material on a new project though. Oooh- maybe it will be mostly new stuff with a couple of tried-and-true crowd-pleasing old favorites sprinkled in? 🤗 Either way, I’m excited and eager to hear what he comes up with. We’ll find out soon 😃

Roomie
>>99379707

That one is practically done! I might want a female guest singer on it tho! We will see :)

Roomie
>>99380278

Interesting idea! I do like that song still, but I’m more excited about stuff I haven’t finished if that makes sense :)

Jessistache_73

Man, I'm just excited to hear the music you are passionate about! I love when you choose different sounds! Everything coming from you *is* you even if you don't have a specific "sound". Just do what you love and feels right for you and I'll listen <3

xtina 🖤
>>99481104

Oh yeah, is there an update Joel on what artist name you will release the EP? On Apple it shows me both Lil Pitchy and Roomie as the artists on your Lil Pitchy songs. IMO releasing under Roomie makes the most sense and putting all the songs together in one place, sure some older songs may be styles you grew out of, but artists change overtime, and I think they are all good songs. As far as when I share your music to others, it is confusing to say some songs are under roomie and some are under Lil Pitchy, but they will find it either way! Excited for the new demos, especially to hear the completed version of "so selfish".

MediocreAtBest

One of the songs you teased awhile ago (end of 2021 maybe?) has stuck with me a bit, but I think it was only on stories. So I'll assume it got the axe or was otherwise absorbed into another song. The two recent demos you've mentioned are a good vibes already, and Raw Pasta has stayed on my On Repeat playlist since release. I tend to play it two or three times in a row - it's too good to be over that soon. Work on polishing whatever songs you feel passionate about, music is such a subjective thing.

Nataliekey

I just joined so I'm a bit late on the conversation already, but a few years back you teased a song called 'trash together' and I don't know why but that little snippet of that song at the end of the video stuck with me ever since. The melody was interesting and the lyrics very relatable, so I'm begging you to release more of it 🥺👉👈
