Hey gang,

I'm releasing the new video in sync with Trey, and he didn't keep the deadline so it will upload tomorrow. Sorry about that.

Been re-producing Bit By Bit a bit today - redid the drums and mixing for this little part. Let me know if you think this clip sounds good! File attached :)

I need to submit my theme for the music course I'm making tomorrow by the way - let me know anything you'd like to learn from me music-wise (if any lol).

Hope you had a great Tuesday!

ooooo this sounds so crisp and clean!!!!! 🔥🔥🔥 I'm obsessed. I want more lol I'm getting hyped for the release and the release of So Selfish too!! This was chaotic, I am sorry. 😹 How was your weekend, though?

marlenies

Sounds good 👍

Airyckah Lane

Song sounds great… catchy and danceable As for the course.. how to know what parts of songs to keep and remove from writing. I’m very “wordy” in general.. and trying to limit it while keeping the message is hard sometimes. And any suggestions for free or nearly free programs or equipment for just starting and to not sound like you’re just recording with your earbuds on your phone. Like a crash “starter course” to show that you don’t have to have money and everything to get started. That would be good to get people’s inspiration and motivation up, I think. I’m excited for all three things 🥹🥳🥰

Dannielle O'Neill

I like it. Somehow you managed to totally match the vibe of my brain today. I can't explain it better than that, so just take that for what it's worth. Lol I'm not really a musician, so I guess just talk nerdy to me. 🤓😜

Dannielle O'Neill

Wait...so...this ACTUALLY means we get double content/things to watch tho? I'm intrigued...🤔

Aubrey Danielle

Basically music course stuff for someone that’s like a first grader 🤣 that’s me 💩😆

AnovaSig

I’d really like to learn how you keep a song unique. Every time I think I have something special - bam, back on the struggle bus because it sounds exactly like something else. 😑

Genevieve

It sounds really good!

Sugary Magnolia

I think it sounds great! As far as a music course, I don't know at what level you're starting so I can't really say. I'm interested in the creative process of different musicians, as far as inspiration for music and how you build on an initial idea. I'm not creative in that way at all so it's more of a curiosity factor rather than needing to learn for myself.

Cas

But by Bit getting better...you know the rest! Do we need to nag Trey now too about not getting distracted? I'm up for it! Looking forward to the new content!

Clair (Teampanda)

Lit 🔥🔥🔥 I really can't wait for you to release this. Music Course wise is it meant to be like fun educational or more serious songwriting / music production? I think I'd like to understand why sound engineers have 1000 twiddly buttons and knobs in a studio to perfect a track but nowadays with computers, someone can do the same at their own PC. Do you think we're losing the "human" element of listening to sounds that work together over what a computer can generate with programs?? Sorry if that's wordy, it's 4am I'm babbling and incoherent! X

That’s the worst part, the lyrics are okay, the melody is taking off…then all of a sudden I hear pieces of old school SR-71. 😬🤪

Kinga Konyecsik

Bit by Bit sounds amazing! And about the music course, I would be interested a few lessons about the basics, literally the bare minimum.

loonylovesgood

Bit by Bit is probably the song I’m looking forward to the most! It sounds awesome! And my day off is tomorrow so I’m kinda glad the video is delayed until then, lol.

Today was my day off. I wanted to watch after errands and chores. Oh well what's one more day?

Stephanie Bruso

I just want to able to write songs like Taylor Swift honestly

Ave Castruita

Aaaaahhhh!!! You're killing me Berghult! Jajajaja... Jk, my phone isn't friends with Patreon App and can't listen to your attachments... It's frustrating!!! I'll get back to you when I get to enjoy your music.

PigeonMilk_216

Bit by Bit is not so slowly encroaching it's way into becoming my new song obsession Music course wise I have no clue, as I am by no means a music geek, but maybe what defines a song into categories, like catchy, sad, or overall a vibe, etc.

Aleece

Dude looking forward to hearing Bit by Bit all done! Hmmmm the music course - Maybe tips on how to find chord progressions or coming up with the music for people that don’t know music theory. I know some theory from college and had to write stuff using it (it was midterms and final exam lol), but I know you don’t need to know it to make songs. (Makes me think of a clip I heard a long time ago of Michael Jackson saying something on the lines of music theory is unnecessary). I don’t fully agree with that but I get what he meant haha

Becky Lorion

Sounds great! Looking forward to it being released and looking forward to the new video tomorrow 😊

Miriam

Bit by bit sounds good, can definitely hear the emotion! For the music course, I would love to know the building blocks of music composition from songwriting to production. So maybe a step by step guide to different approaches of songwriting like starting out on an instrument vs. directly on the computer? Hope that makes sense lol!

Dorie

My last meeting of the day had me bark laughing, so I would say it ended on a high note. Bit by Bit sounds great. What song is next on the list?

emy

In a really nuts and bolts way, I’d want to learn more about your workflow and the stepwise mechanics. Specific topics I think would be super interesting to learn from you (and might be interesting for all kinds of experience levels) -Where you get ideas for what to write about -How to start a project once you have an idea -What are your essential ingredients in a song vs in a production -How you pace yourself on a project -Stuff you’ve made that you’re proud of, and why it works -What to do when you get stuck -Are there any concepts/common practices that you really DON’T care about? Things you suggest letting go of? -What you should do on your own vs collaboratively -How to decide when something’s done I’d learn a lot from you breaking down productions that you love and describing not just how they’re made but also what makes them different or great. I also just know nothing about drums and I would want to learn that! I’ve noticed the whole topic often gets glossed over in broader production videos and I find drum-specific nerd tutorials pretty specialized/intimidating. The approachability and accessibility that you have when talking about music is imo a huge part of what’s going to make the course great. Yes, there are some fun teachers out there, but in your videos you explain technical concepts like you’re talking to a buddy, and I think that’s really key. For all kinds of people, you’ll be amazing at helping us to level up without overloading or distracting us. I don’t know if this is something I heard you say or if I heard it somewhere else, but an idea I really like is finding the “shortest path” to being able to get *enjoyment* out of creating music (or a new musical skill). Sorry so long but this is exciting! No matter what you decide to focus on, the course is gonna be so good.

Gayle

Love it, really too short...not enough of a good thing to find anything wrong. It's still very catchy and the ascending and descending chords are just really nice to the ear. Music wise simple start on some common phrases. Call it talking music. There are phrases that non musicians or even novices might not really know or proper syntax in usage. We all do this in common English. I know you will make it fun, Joel. You really are amazing. ❤️❤️😘😘

MONSTER! 👹 I agree that theory’s kind of a mixed bag. Like obviously you have to understand music to make music, but there’s so many ways to get that understanding besides like… studying chords in a textbook

Aleece
>>105676579

Yes! It really does make me think about how others processes are different. I can see myself want to be too structured and want to check a theory textbook to see what’s there or look up chords for songs I like, whereas my brother had a music program and just layered premade stuff together and it was a vibe. Haha

Good things are worth waiting, excited to see the video! 🙂 It'll be nice way to start 6 days off from work 😁 Bit by Bit sounds great! So many of ur songs that I can't wait to hear finished! 🎶🥰 Since I ain't music making genius, I'm probably not the target group for the course 😅 I'm just really curious about where/how u get the ideas for the melody, lyrics etc. And from where do u usually start. And what all can be done to the voice with the programs and with different microphones 🎤🎙️.... Also in what ways one can set the mood for the song or highlight some lyrics or feelings. Pretty much interested in the whole process from start to finish, but that's probably not the point of ur course to teach everything there's to know about music making for dummies 😅🙂 Goodnight and happy upcoming Wednesday 🙂💙

Aubrey Danielle
>>105679641

“A Roomieofficial Music Making Process” is what it sounds like it might be 🤩 whatever it is, I’m sure it’ll be good. Happy Wednesday to you already grandma 🤣👌🏻

Jen 🦙

The production is so tight on that section now, it sounds a song that could be played on the radio right now! 💃🏻 I’d be interested to learn more about where to start as I feel the idea of opening music programmes overwhelming because there is so many different sections to choose from 🙂 (my knowledge is more from the classical side and the pop production side has always blown my mind a bit!) Don’t worry about the video delay, sounds like you’ve had an incredibly productive day! 👏🏻

JustSomeJK
>>105679641

Jeez Aubrey, I haven't had my coffee yet, and u are hitting hard already with the grannies 😬😅 What happened to the boomer, now it's grandmas! 😝 I hope u have polished ur glittery unicorn cane so that it's nice and ready to lean on while watching the upcoming Roomie video 😂 Goodnight and remember to put ur teeth into a glass of water for the night 🤣😂

Aubrey Danielle
>>105679641

My TEETH? Oh heck no 🤣😫 I’m gonna spank ya with my glitter unicorn cane now 🤣😂 you’ve been promoted from boomer to grandma, it’s an honor really 😁🤣 niiight 😴 ER, morning to you ✨

JustSomeJK
>>105679641

I'm not sure I buy that honor part 🤔 But I let it slide now 😂 Nighty night 😊

About your course, definitely be good to know how to get started, what resources you need as a minimum, how to make music if you have ideas and some musicality but aren’t a skilled musician, what to do with your ideas, how to share your music, things to be careful of…

MediocreAtBest

Gah! Everytime you've shared a demo of Bit by Bit it's stuck in my head for the rest of the day. Any quiet moment and slowly but surely my brain "...bit by bit, little by little hmm hmm HMmMmm". And I'm not mad about it. Prob my fav song you have in the works. It's just so hype! (Im)patiently waiting to add it to my playlists c:

Helga 🦊

I’ve been really liking“Bit By Bit” from the time you’ve started writing it ☺️ It’s the very catchy song! I’m definitely not a music nerd so Idk about your course 🤷🏻‍♀️As for the video…it is what it is.

Melissa Rogers
>>105675403

You might be babbling at 4am…but you’re making sense and bringing up good points. What you’ve mentioned here, among other things, I am also quite curious about learning from our “Music Nerd Boi” Joel.

Melissa Rogers
>>105678332

Emy, I agree with you 100% about Joel’s: approachability, accessibility and his ability to explain things like he’s talking to a friend. That really goes a long way in the “teacher to student” aspect of things…we/the students, don’t feel like we’re being talked down to. The way Joel talks, and explains things in his videos (when he’s “nerding out”), makes me _want_ to learn more from him.

Clair (Teampanda)
>>105675403

Bless you for understanding it ☺️ My other half caught me talking in my sleep a few days a go, a full paragraph of why I couldn't join someone in the street and then whispering to someone else 🤣🤣🤣! It's no surprise I can write random stuff in the middle of the night too!

emy
>>105676579

Structure vs vibes, can relate lol! It would be nice to access that freedom more, just trusting creative instincts and going with the vibe. 🌊

Melissa Rogers
>>105675403

Sometimes when I’m up late and replying to (or talking to) someone, I often wonder if I was making any sense. Don’t know if I talk in my sleep…I’d hafta ask my husband about that. 😁 As much as I love singing, it’s a wonder that he hasn’t said if I sing in my sleep. LOL!! 😆😜

emy
>>105678332

What you said! It’s like getting tricked into eating vegetables… Like when someone bakes zucchini into a delicious chocolate cake haha

Melissa Rogers

The location of your music course?! Are you going to host it on one of the other new channels you mentioned a while back?! Have you thought of a name for your course?! “Education with Roomie: Music Edition” “Music Nerdy Stuff with Rami (or Juan Guy)” “Bit By Bit” keeps sounding like even more of a fun bop/banger, each time you tease us with new clips!! So excited to hear the final version and to add it to my iTunes playlist!! Do you know if you’ll finish “Best Thing That Happened To Me”?! I stand by my reply to Emy. Anytime you start talking about, and explaining certain things in your videos; but then you stop…I’m watching and listening to you in awe. Like I truly do want to hear/learn more. And (for me, at least) I think it has to do with how you’re explaining things. I’m so excited…for new music, content, and your music course!! I’m truly happy for you, Rami!! You ARE “something special”, and you do “something great” every single day!! (A couple of throwback lines to a song with loving and heartbroken memories for you. I’m sorry…I love this song, though!!) I don’t know who’s expectations you wanted to crush (back then), but I am sooo glad that I stumbled across your channel!!

Melissa Rogers
>>105678332

Exactly!! Joel is kinda like a non-teacher, teacher (does that make sense?!)…someone who I _want to_ learn more from (and about)!! 😁🙏🏻

Bookdragon 43

I really love Bit by Bit!!💖💓👍 So excited for your new projects!!
