Hana Song, known by her gaming alias D.Va, emerged as one of the most formidable and beloved heroes in the Overwatch universe, but her journey to becoming a celebrated mech pilot was marked by determination, sacrifice, and a fierce dedication to her homeland.

Born and raised in Busan, South Korea, Hana was a prodigious talent in competitive gaming from a young age. With unparalleled reflexes and strategic prowess, she quickly rose to prominence in the professional gaming circuit, earning a reputation as one of the best StarCraft players in the world.

However, as tensions escalated between the nations of the world, South Korea found itself under threat from the colossal omnics known as the "Gwishin," which emerged from the East China Sea. In response, the government initiated the MEKA (Mobile Exo-Force of the Korean Army) program, recruiting the nation's top gamers to pilot state-of-the-art mechs in defense of their homeland.

Recognizing Hana's exceptional skills, the South Korean military offered her a position as a mech pilot in the MEKA program. Eager to protect her country and inspired by her love for video games, Hana eagerly accepted the opportunity, adopting the moniker "D.Va" as her callsign.
