Yeah, sadly ash lost was because of the last min decisions made by the writers. Alain had to win for the story

Also because of how charizard mega evolved which turned it into a fire and dragon type, making it no longer weak to water because of it's dragon type

Ash losing this League was massively controversial and heated back in the day. Ash losing Leagues wasn’t anything new and was normal, but this was huge because never had he made it that far before, making it to the finals for the first time. Loads of people felt like Ash should’ve won. Ironic, both Ash and Serena were runner ups in their respective things but felt robbed. Also, the League feels like it’s setting up for the next arc, the real climax of XY.

This reaction is amazing! I think it would be a great idea if you reacted to all the league tournaments where Ash has competed. That way, you wouldn’t have to watch the entire season but just focus on the matchups in the leagues, best regards
