They also said that Wallace from being gym leader he became champion of hoenn ( aka the strongest trainer there). But if you remember from xyz, Steven ( the guy with the shiny mega metagross) was called champion of hoenn. Which means around the xyz time, Steven got 8 badges, won the hoenn league, defeat the hoenn elite four in the champion league and win against Wallace which made him the new hoenn champion.

Dp continues to be goated. I think by the end o the series bloom would love dp more than xy. It is true that xy/xyz has better battle animations when compared to a much older series like diamond and pearl but outside of battle wise xy is pretty stale while diamond and pearl is really well written in terms of story wise and everything else. Even the DP movies was goated so imo I love DP more than xy and y'all gotta admit that xyz pretty much carried the whole xy series or it wouldn't have been up there.

That's definitely a realisation I made recently. XYZ was what took the series from good to great. First 2 seasons were decent, pretty much all the great stuff about the series is all in XYZ

Wanna know what's funny? Same tbh. The last time I watched dp was back when I was still a kid when they aired on the tv once a week lmao. And I am sure that most of us watched dp way before xy so we tend to forget how much better dp was than xy. Which is kinda sad actually since I wished xy has this level of writing. Yeah, ash's Greninja, alain's mega Charizard, mega evolution in the series, team flare arc and the gym leaders are what carried the xy/xyz series as a whole.

For a long time, DP was the series I watched the least, so I couldn’t really say much. Though I did watch XYZ and thought it was really good. Random rant, but XY probably has the loudest and one of the most annoying fanbases. Glazing to insufferable levels that so bad that my rewatch with Bloom ironically made me forget how great the season was under all the mind-numbing glaze. The worst thing about them is how they love to trash on SM for the same shallow, childish complaints. They lose it when you dare praise that series or say it does things better. XY may be hype and pretty visuals, to me SM is more character and emotion-driven. There’s only other fanbase as bad as them are the OG fans

Yh Fr, like the console being $450 is fair, and the games being $70 while not ideal, is tolerable. But Mario Kart being $80 is just next level greed.
