Ah, Nightmare Reaper, a game I can finally put to rest. Love this one. I've booted it up countless time between getting it years ago and now. Steam says I have about 100 hours in it after doing this playthrough. It doesn't sound like a lot, but for me 100 hours is a lot for me. I've had relationships that lasted less time. 

Been a long time coming and this was one of those videos I was super excited to make while I was playing the game because it provided so much to talk about for a video. The whole thing worked out and gave me setups, payoffs, drama, thrills, an opportunity to get Gianni AGAIN, sewer counts, nuke counts, clips of me eating shit against ridiculous odds, triumphing, cheesing, all practically gift wrapped for me. Just an absolute delight to make this one. I hope you all enjoy it. I don't know what's next exactly, but I was thinking of doing a bit of Doom. No Rest For The Living. Not TNT, never TNT, I will die before I try to wring entertainment out of that damp sponge of a WAD again.

Always wanted to play this, but the optimization is... Pretty bad. Especially for a game with pixel graphics.

I love this game so much, got it thanks to you Civvie! Looking forward to the full launch on Monday for sure. I was a bit skeptical at first since one thing I love about the classics is how the best levels have attention to detail and puzzles that procedural generation just can't match, but Nightmare Reaper pulls it off and has solid shooting to boot.

I actually just picked this up last night and accidentally ended up awake until 2am lmao. Fantastic game, almost seems like there's no end to the fun. Thanks again, Civvie! Also that "Wring entertainment from that damp sponge of a WAD" got me.

2026-09-12 04:00 I want to like this game based on the premise and visuals, but I DESPISE RNG stuff in games and I do not think I'll enjoy it at all. Its nice to see it showcased by you though, and I hope he devs do well with it.

Looking forward to this one! As to what's next, I'd love to see you do Cybermage, the Origin FPS that everyone just kind of shrugged their shoulders at and said, "eh, that's fine, I guess." I did QA on it and it was... an interesting development process on that one, if you ever do decide to do it and want some background info.

One of the rare games I disagree on Civvie about, the bad "boss" battles, the level gen and too many levels that made Doom 3 look well-lit just killed it for me. Which made me sad, because when the level gen got off its ass, spawned good guns and you were in one of the biomes that didn't look like you were exploring the inside of something's rectum, it was a solid play.

It blows my mind that this is running inside UE4. Games nowadays lack so much creativity, this one fills up on it. I'd rather have more BS technics and better design and imagination than omg UE5 graphics and boxed in gameplay. That proves it, I'm a John Romero loving boomer.

Continuity error? At 11:27 it shows Sewer Count 199, and then at 11:57 Sewer Count is still at 199.

I can't play this. There's just too much, everything flying around on screen. It's hurting my eyes. The Fortress of Dr. Radiaki has a similar effect on me, but for a different reason. Does anyone else know I mean?

My guess about the "Blake Rock" weapon is that it's a reference to Blake Stone? The weapon itself looks like the laser pistol in that game.

Joined the patreon after the poking about the Sewer Count - figured it was well past due since Civvie is on 99.99% of the time in the background outside of work. Did anyone else notice the riff from Them Bones by Alice in Chains at about 10:45?

I picked this up and I ended up getting and absolutely bonkers gun - the Machine Gun, modelled after the M60, I think? But with Random Projectile, and it took the ammunition from the Post Driver, so it's a machine gun shooting metal bollards. Fuck I love this game.

This game is frigging awesome! Ive put in around 350 hours in the past few weeks. Ive had some really crazy broken weapons, but my current smartgun is nuts! 6 X damage,+2 attacks, 40 %leech, %40 percent faster fire rate. It just obliterates everything!
