Magic Item: The M'himic Gloves (Patreon)

Wondrous Item, very rare, requires attunements

“Yes, they bite, but don't worry. They’re my trained little terrors. I feed them and praise them and they purr against my palms. You won't lose your fingers until I want you to.”

The M’himic Gloves are, at first glance, finely crafted and adorned gloves designed with form over function in mind. However, upon closer inspection, a tiny mouth, an eye and hungry teeth can occasionally be seen poking out. The M’himic Gloves are, as their name suggests, a pair of mimic twins raised by the same wizard who orphaned them (until his untimely demise to a laboratory fire). Having their more voracious nature kept in check, they have been extensively trained and will follow appropriate commands given to them. For the adventurer willing to look past their grisly exterior, they are surprisingly warm and comfortable, and the mimics work in tandem with their owner.

The M’himic Gloves can be given orders to change shape (although they retain their glove-like appearance) to fit a variety of functions, like employing their prehensile tongue to pickpocket unsuspecting victims, or their highly adhesive nature to stick to surfaces. They can also be turned into hungry gauntlets that bite and chew whoever is unlucky enough to be opposing them!
