Yesterday I had the pleasure of shooting with @les_petitsregard, and it was such a relaxed and fun session. Definitely one of the most pleasant photographers I’ve worked with in a while! His way of shooting is quite unique: he pauses, observes, steps back, comes closer, moves around the space before pressing the shutter. Normally, I get restless or bored when that happens. But with him, I felt safe – and that kept me from drifting off mentally. Instead, I started to think creatively, to want to express myself, to contribute my own ideas. I haven’t felt that in a long time, and it was really refreshing. At the same time, I found myself questioning more deeply than I have in years why I’m shooting at all, and how much longer I want to keep doing this. Between shoots, I’m often carrying this subtle tension, knowing that I’ll soon be in front of the camera again – and that makes it hard for me to truly let go. Even now, here in Paris, I notice that I can’t just eat, enjoy, simply be … because there’s always this voice reminding me that another shoot is coming up. And it doesn’t matter whether I’m naked, half-naked, in lingerie, or fully dressed – the pressure is always there. Sometimes lighter, sometimes heavier. And I wonder how much it’s really worth.
