Hi all,

A new video is now up and this one is a full breakdown of the guitar parts from Motorcycle Emptiness by Manic Street Preachers, a song that's been requested quite a few times so it's good to finally get to it.

It's a fantastic song and there's a lot going on with the guitar parts. I cover the main chord progression, all the variations of the main riff, the pre-chorus, the middle section and the main solo.

As a Patreon supporter you also get a bonus video where I break down the outro solo - you can find it here:

https://youtu.be/uncSuxYUvGM

Full tabs and a backing track are below. The backing track is what I play in the intro to the video - intro/verse/pre-chorus/chorus and solo.

Hope you enjoy it - any questions just let me know in the comments.

-Adrian

Motorcycle Emptiness — Full Guitar Tutorial: the Riffs, the Soloing & the Sound

In this video I break down all the main guitar parts from Motorcycle Emptiness by the Manic Street Preachers — one of the great guitar songs to come out of the UK in the early 90s. We start with the descending chord progression at the heart of the song, then get into those melodic riffs that drive the track. I also cover the pre-chorus, the bridge section and the main solo. And towards the end I talk through the gear: the guitars, amp and pedals used on the original recording, and what I'm using in this video. If you want the complete picture, head over to my Patreon page where you'll find full tabs, a backing track, and a bonus video breaking down the outro solo.
