Hey patrons! So here we have the music/tab for some of the riffs I played in Friday's video. I've not written out the full songs as that would probably take me all week, but I hope you have fun with these snippets. I may well do full song lessons on some of these in the future though. Have fun and speak soon,

Adrian

Hi Adrian, thanks for your diverse lessons - finally felt compelled to contribute a little something in return! I'm nearly there with Television's 'Venus', but would love to see a full lesson for 'Elevation' (or 'days'). Also saw someone asked for XTC, great idea - maybe 'roads girdle the globe'?

Hi Andrew - great to have you on board here. Yes, an XTC lesson will almost certainly happen, but I've yet to decide which songs or songs. Will throw roads girdle the globe into the mix! And another Television song is probably due soon too!

Maggie Osterberg

XTC? "Making Plans For Nigel," "Respectable Street," "My Bird Performs," "25 O'Cock!"

Yes - all great suggestions - thanks. Didn't really know My Bird Performs but just had a listen - some really lovely playing on that!

I've looked but have failed to find a video called "Jazzmaster Riffs." I've also put Costello into the search bar and it doesn't come up that way either. What's the name of video that you are referring to above? I'm mainly looking for Elvis Costello, rather than the other bands referenced here.

John Williamson

Thanks, Adrian! I'd love some Elvis Costello if you ever get around to it. Some of his earlier stuff would be nice. I have a Fender Classic Player Jazzmaster and concur that it's a great guitar--even the cheaper version!

Yes, I'd like to do a proper Elvis Costello lesson. I'll give it some thought. Any particular songs you'd like to see me look at?

This is great fun to celebrate buying my first Jazzmaster this week :-)

Great - congrats on the Jazzmaster! You made the right decision. What did you get and how are you finding it?

Thomas Wilkinson

It’s a used Troy Van Leeuwen signature I came across in Ochanomizu in Tokyo, just had to buy it! I just set it up with 11s, and it is basically all the things that owners usually say about their Jazzmasters. It has the right pickups and a mustang bridge already so nothing more needs to be done except play (and hopefully improve).
