Hello patrons! Bad news is I've been a bit unwell this week (some kind of virus, but nothing too serious) and I've not been in a fit state to make any new videos. Good news is I still have a couple of Wire videos remaining in my stash, which I'm bringing to you today. I had intended to take a bit more of a break from Wire as I've been going a bit Wire mad lately, but hope you enjoy them anyway. In these videos we have the two sides of Wire: the punk-poppy Mannequin, and the more experimental 40 Versions. Link and tabs below. And that's it for Wire, for the time being at least. Have a good week! - Adrian

I'm sorry to hear you were unwell, Adrian! Best wishes for a speedy recovery. I was looking forward to your final Wire release(s)--Wire's been a real treat, and right now it's making a good companion to alternate between banging out these barre chords and working on my fingerstyle with your MJH Stagger Lee lesson of a few weeks back. Thank you!

Thanks Chris. It's nothing too serious, just got a bad sore throat which makes talking to camera difficult. Enjoy learning the last couple of Wire tunes!

Speedy recovery, Adrian! This will give me a change to be more diligent in my practice. No worries, mate!

Maximiliano Pagliero

I like the different strategies for doing fast chord changes. Like Adrian uses fingers 3 and 4 on strings A and D to pull the B chord faster.

Yes, great! Thought you did a really good job. Nice clean chords, good rhythm. Just a slight hesitation between some of the chords, but nothing a bit more practice won't fix.

Thanks for posting this Maximiliano! I'm so self-conscious about my playing that I'd be terrified to post a video. At the same time, I'm realizing that hiding out in my room and playing by myself is pretty antithetical to what music should be about....

Maximiliano Pagliero

Go for it Chris! You got nothing to lose. Just watching yourself suck some notes or chords will give you more energy to keep practicing, but those notes that you hit right will give you extremely satisfaction. And comments like yours or Adrians just makes it better.

Yes, it's really hard to put yourself out there, post a video or to play in public. But it's worth the effort and the discomfort as it's such a valuable way to get feedback and to identify things that need work in your paying. The temptation is always to practice a bit more, and wait until things are perfect before you go public, and of course that moment never comes! If anybody here feels like posting a video and getting a bit of constructive feedback and encouragement from me and other people here, please do it. Plus, you can always set the video to private and post a link here if you don't want everyone to be able to see it.

Glad to see Adrian is nudging towards $1,000 per month, more than well deserved! I got to grips with the wire 40 versions recently, and found myself entranced by this growling guitar sound that I never imagined myself being in command of until he unlocked the mystery...cheers Adrian - and please, Television 'Elevation' one day?

anyonecanplayguitar

Yes, I started the Patreon page as a bit of experiment but I'm amazed and very grateful that so many people have signed up. The 40 Versions riff is great isn't it? And I will try and do more Television later this year...

Dang, it is so annoying that Patreon cannot alert us to these comments! I have thought several times about Maximiliano's post and about my response to it, and only by accident as I was searching for a previous lesson just now did I see that Maximiliano and Adrian had both posted further comments. Thank you very much for your encouragement, and thank you to Maximiliano for posting in the first place! (Of course I don't know if anyone will ever see *this* comment.....
