Hello patrons!

Hope you're all doing well.  I thought I'd bring you the Christmas video this week, just to give you a bit of time to practice what is a quite tricky chord melody arrangement of this festive classic. For those UK-based patrons feeling a little depressed this morning, I hope this lifts your spirits a bit. (What could I possibly be referring to?!)

Here's a link to the video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dsARbwOUxNw

Tab for this one is free on my site, but I'm attaching a PDF and the Guitar Pro file below.

Enjoy getting this one together. Remember it's totally OK to simplify if you find this one a bit beyond your current skill level. Bass notes and the melody line are the important thing.

I'll be back next week with one more - non-Christmassy - video.

Speak then,

Adrian

Just listened to the version sung by Nora Sagal on my way home...thumbs up!

Martin Lorenz

Bummer about Boris and Brexit. Great arrangement, though!

David Finn

I love your guitar lessons Adrian but grow up !! I don't need you to foist your political views on us, and it is incredibly arrogant to assume that your Patreon friends would automatically share them. You are frankly insulting the ones who don't so thanks for that mate ! Get out of your London bubble and show some respect for the rest of the country . And ask your Jewish friends who were getting ready to leave the country how depressed they could have been feeling this morning...

Colin Davis

So he’s not allowed to express an opinion, but you are?

Tim Rose

Adrian - you've certainly lifted my spirits and I've added a bit extra to my account as a thank you - may music heal us all.

Jeff Sims

Jeez, paranoid much? It's hardly foisting an opinion if you don't actually, you know, state an opinion. There is the suggestion that some of his Patreon members might find the election result depressing, which I think is reasonable, given that we probably represent a cross section of society at large, but it is hardly an arrogant assumption of anyones beliefs. Now be honest, you're the sort of person that likes calling people snowflake, aren't you David?

Jeff Sims

Hello Adrian, Merry Christmas and thanks so much for another year of inspiration. One thing; as much as I enjoyed your arrangement of The Internationale, maybe next year you could go a bit easier on the Billy Bragg, Woody Guthrie and Rage Against the Machine lessons?

Chris Kueny

I didn't hear Adrian foist anything other than a chord melody guitar lesson.

Chris Kueny

Well, there was that green jumper though.

Chris Kueny

Thank you for the year of great lessons that you've foisted upon us Adrian! I won't try this one right away; I recently picked up working on your old "Christmastime is Here" and that's enough to keep me busy for a while. We in the US also are living through some interesting times, but you remind us each week that there are some giving people out there doing some really fine things. I heard someone above say that they would pitch in a little extra, and I'd been thinking that the holidays are a good time for us to think about a bump to our Patreon contributions, or maybe a little Christmas bonus in the hat, or whatever for those who are able. Thanks again!

Sorry you feel that way David. It was meant only as a fairly light-hearted comment. I've certainly no desire to foist my opinions on anybody at all.

Thanks Chris. Yes, I think taking on another quite challenging Christmas chord melody piece might be a bit too much. Thanks to you for your support this year, the kind comments and great suggestions. Happy Holidays!

Brian Scott

I am just getting around to this. What beautiful arrangement of this holiday classic! I cannot wait to learn this to keep in my repertoire, you've outdone yourself. Love the jazz feel and soft touch, well done sir! I echo the sentiments of (some) of my fellow patrons ;) in thanking you for another year of great lessons and wish for you and yours a wonderful Christmas and a happy new year! Cheers!

Thanks Brian for your support, and all the great comments and suggestions this year. Hope you and yours have a great Christmas too. Speak in the New Year!
