Hello everyone,

Hope you're all doing well. I though it was about time I looked at some shoegaze - I'm sure many of you on here are fans of this style of music. The song I've gone for is Dreams Burn Down by Ride. A beautiful, easy to play track. As I say in the video, I may well look at one or two more shoegaze songs later in the year, so let me know if you have any particular requests, and I'll see what I can do.

Here's the link:

Find the tab below. I've included the outro lead guitar parts, which I didn't have time to get into in the video. The backing track is coming up shortly.

Enjoy learning the song. Speak next week,

Adrian

Hi Adrian - that was great - while not strictly shoegaze, I would love to see you run us through a Cocteau Twins song off of Blue Bell Knoll or Heaven or Los Vegas. Maybe with a bit of a tutorial on how they created their distinctive guitar song.

Thomas Simmons

Nice tease with the Marshall. 👽Always enjoy watching you play.

Thanks Thomas. The Marshall will come into its own when I do some Sabbath!

Yes, I'd love to try a Cocteau Twins lesson. Will be a challenge for me though - very hard to replicate and get to the bottom of what's going on! But I'll see what I can do.

Huge Cocteau Twins fan here too. This is a lesson that would be more than welcomed.

João Felipe Santos

Loved that lesson! Giving me a reason to add a second Big Muff to my board, haha (so I can have one before and one after my reverb)

Another vote for a Cocteau track, Iceblink Luck comes to mind but I thinks it’s predominantly synths so maybe not that one.

Oxfordshire! Heavenly and The Jazz Butcher are always in heavy rotation at my house . . .

Michael Stomiany

Did you change your mind on doing the back track? If you have done one, would it contain simply no guitar or maybe an option including rhythm? Thanks

Hi Michael - yes, there is a backing but it's in a separate post. If you search you should find it - any problems with that let me know! As I remember, it just has bass and drums.

Dark Heart

Hi Adrian, I became a Patreon specifically to hear the backing track for 'Dreams Burn Down' by 'Ride' but it appears it's not on here? Are you able to upload it or send it to me? Cheers
