Hello everyone!

For a bit of fun this week I thought I’d look at Drag Racer by The Doug Wood Group, AKA the old BBC snooker theme tune. (Not from the UK? Have no idea what snooker is? Not to worry, since this is a great, fun to play instrumental regardless of the snooker associations.)

Here's the link to the lesson:

If you'd like to check out the Doug Wood interview I mention in the video, you can watch it here:

Tab can be found below. The backing track is coming in the next post. Hope you enjoy!

Speak next Friday,

re retro tv requests - "SPACE 1999" main theme. Might not be right for your channel but its ace. Always liked the "The Sweeney" theme too. That one counts as 2 as you could play it slowly for the closing credits.

Adrian, genius choice- as ever. Here’s a thought - Orang Outang by BowWowWow.

If you want any suggestions how about busting the Jazzmaster out and doing a surfy Munsters or Batman?

Yes! Just had a listen to Space 1999 to remind myself how it went - love it! And the Sweeney is a great theme too. Will see what I can do...

Yes, great track! And one I'm not really familiar with. I may well try learning it.

Excellent! Thanks for continuing to inspire Adrian.

As a suggestion for a TV Theme to do in the future can I suggest the theme to 'This Life' from the mid 90s. Performed by The Way Out.

Interesting choice! I remember This Life but can't recall the theme tune - will revisit it today!
