Here's my backing track. Use it to practice my arrangement, maybe have a go at working up an arrangement of your own, or perhaps try improvising over the chords. Hope you enjoy playing along.

Released in 1968. Remember it very well. Magical song. TY

Wow, Adrian! Your arrangement is just achingly beautiful. This song is my favorite, but it’s so sad sounding at the same time. Genius song.

Great arrangement, Adrian !....I will spend hours working on this one...thanks so much...your lessons are just fantastic !

Thanks Julie! Yes, such an amazing song, one of my all time favourites.

Hi Adrian, thanks for this backing track, it will be useful for me to practice with. I always liked the original and I liked this cover version by NZ/Aussie band King Harvest https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kheVSP67cjQ Jimmy Doyle (lead guitarist) plays some nice licks.

Jeremy Farber

I love the song, but I did this parody a few years ago to contrast the honorable humbleness of the Lineman with a high school kid with a part time job: https://youtu.be/ge_JOIamH4Q

Thanks for the lesson! How can I download backing track from Patreon?

anyonecanplayguitar

Thanks Anton! Yes, you should be able to download it - click on the 3 dots at the bottom of the post. Any problems with that, let me know.

Just what I need to rehearse Wichita Lineman

Hi- tab is in a separate post, it should be just before this one. Any problems finding it let me know!

At my talent level it took me almost 3 weeks of playing it daily to learn every detail but I finally have it 95% down pat and what an improvement I have made in my playing as a result of sticking with it. Beautiful arrangement and great backing track - thanks Adrian.

Is it possible to get a downloadable version of this to put into my DAW? Thanks a lot.

anyonecanplayguitar

Hi Iain. Yes - you need to click on the 3 dots under the post to reveal the download button. Think it only works on a desktop comport though. Hope that helps.

Iain G

Great! got it! Thanks a lot.

On your tab, there are sections, bar 45 for example, where it is marked as 14 on G string and 12 on the A string. How are you picking this? Are you barring on the 12th and playing 12th on the D string as well, or are you doing it partly manually? Hard to tell on the vid. Thanks.

Absolutely superb. I came to your tutorial after watching Rick Beato's breakdown of this song. It's been a long time favourite of mine. Somehow I missed your email when you first posted it. I go through long periods of de-motivation on guitar and this was just the tonic / wake up call I needed. Like you say, it can be adapted in various ways : solo performance, 2 guitars, guitar + vocal, or a full band. For anyone not familiar with Jimmy Webb I would highly recommend his album "Ten Easy Pieces". Songwriting at its very best...

Your backing track is fantastic ! I use it to learn singing and playing piano too 😊

Where did the download go? Can you move file to voice memos or other formats? Thanks in advance.
