Hi everyone,

I know there was a little bit of John McGeoch in last week's video, but I'm in the mood for more. And I thought I'd take a look at the track Rhythm of Cruelty by Magazine, a stupendous song which features some typically brilliant McGeoch guitar work.

My tab can be found below. And the backing track is going to be in the next post as usual.

Hope you enjoy the video!

See you next week,

Adrian

Love it, Adrian! I'll be breaking out my Eastwood McGeoch 1000 this evening and giving it a go!

I'm with you on this one Adrian, as far as the brilliance of John McGeoch and Magazine. I still have Magazine's first three Albums (Vinyl). The band I was in back in 80/81 did Song from Under the Floorboards. I'll get to working on this one asap. Thanks again

Nobody earns their Patreon money more than you. I just love what you do for us. Thank you so much.

One of my favorite Magazine tracks- thank you! Was going to start trying to suss out the McGeoch solo at the end of an old Visage B-side called 'Blocks on Blocks', but going to tackle this instead.

Toby

Brilliant! Never thought I'd see a lesson on this!! Thanks Adrian

Ian Murphy

Thanks for this. I also love Magazine and still listen to Secondhand Daylight regularly. I'll be giving this a try shortly.

Robert Frame

Excellent choice. Thank you very much.

"The light pours out of me" is the number 1,,,,

that riff sounds like something Gedge of the Wedding Present does. There's another potential lesson, David Gedge of the Wedding Present, C90 indie-pop royalty!

Patrick Pedersen

oh my gosh that riff brought tears to my eyes! Damn I'm getting old.
