Heck yes!

Blackwargreymon00

After The Batman please also watch Batman (1989) and Batman Mask of the Phantasm (1993) 🙏

Christopher Young

Hi Angels, you were right about the actress who played 'Aquaman's' mother 'The Queen'. This is Nicole Kidman, who is very famous

Jef Etters

If they do watch Batman 89, they might enjoy The Flash movie after that, since they seemed to enjoy that character. Mask of the Phantasm is amazing.

I haven't seen the movie in a while; it really is a great origin story for Aquaman. Huge praise to the special effects team for executing the underwater scenes so well, that couldn't have been easy. The movie even manages to make a weapon like a trident (probably no one's favorite weapon😅) look awesome. Watching it this time, I noticed a detail that surely can't be a coincidence, yet it still feels a bit random. In the opening scene where Arthur's parents meet, as the camera zooms in on the snow globe, you can see it sitting on top of the book The Dunwich Horror by H.P. Lovecraft. Lovecraft was an author who pioneered the genre of cosmic horror, primarily during the 1920s and 30s. He wrote a story called The Shadow Over Innsmouth; very roughly speaking, it’s about a small town that strikes a pact with an underwater race, the Deep Ones, in order to survive. I have a feeling the "Trench" creatures in the movie were inspired by the Deep Ones from that book. I just wonder why The Dunwich Horror (rather than The Shadow Over Innsmouth) is lying on the table, it’s kind of odd. But then again, the reference is too conspicuous to be just a coincidence. As always, that was a great reaction, ladies. 💜

Hello Angels!! You caught us last week with Obsesion. Now let's dive into Atlantis and aquaman's world!! For me, it's a fun movie. Aquaman is clearly not my favourites hero in DC, but I like this movie. For me, it's on the same level as wonder woman. very good and good way to present the backstory of the character for someone who doesn't know the character ( or ,like me, just the great lines) . but for me, this is no sense to have this movie AFTER justice league...but it's very good. (the only things I can complain are details...stupid things when you think about it but nothing to ruin the movie) Ok your description of how Ariel get her legs was funny 😅. Yes, Merman should have tails. but not this time !😉 For the movie "We will" no... please, leave the dog! 😅 Why did I never saw the book of H.P. Lovecraft in the begining? Now that explain why the trench's creature and the karathen look so much like a monster from his books... ( no really, the trench really are Lovecraftian looking as monster!!) "He's a bastard" well exactly like king arthur too ! 🤣 Son of Uther Pendragon from a "rape" (so to speak) of Ivraine, wife of the Duke of Cornwall.... (it's a long story...) Frogmen where divers meant to put explosive on ship or scout by swimming. I love that arthur is trying to save the crew, while Tiên and Lan are giving idea to kill everyone in the submarines !! 🤣 It's not a "mini-bazooka" it's a grenade launcher. Put it all the way you want, leaving the dad dying like that was very cold for aquaman. It should have been better to free him and put them in jails. but this way, it was cruel. Yeah, Hippocampus in this movie are very cool. but Irl, they are way smaller. but I love the "monster size" fish they made for them to ride. "I'm mad at humans" well, we have good reasons (mainly pollution) but not war for once !😅 Yes, "waterfall" in ocean are possible. for short, it's an optical illusion when currents and pression are pushing sand and other particle down near "cliff". Or aslo in denmark's strait catarcat, Frigid, dense water from the Arctic meets warmer water from the Atlantic. Because cold water is heavier, it sinks and plunges over a massive underwater drop-off on the ocean floor. And yes, even underwater, lava is still burning Vizier= highest advisor of the kingdom, mostly middles east and central asia ones. (or "hand of the king" if you really want an equivalent to GOT). "I could have peed on it" when I say this guy is too vulgar to be a king...😅 "that look like Italy" it is ! they're in sicily. the island of sicily is part of the country of Italy. "I'll wait for the night to coolect the coin" you can't ! it will be stealing and go to jail ! the city is taking the coins! 😅 Ok for me, the enigma for the true king with romulus doesn't make sense. not for the enigma itself....but Romulus was certainly not born when Atlan hide his tridents, neither the castle built in the first place... if we are logical... we have a problem in the timeline for me...When is Atlantis supposed to drown... because, if it's after Agrippa it's way too close to us to make sense! the enigma is cheesy for me, but it's funny too in a way.... let say, it's the kind of enigma...just follow the story ! don't think about it or it will not make sense!😅🤣 Tiên ,"thank you" in italian is "grazie". "merci" is in french. Seriously, how many atlanteans died in that battle for the thrones? (so bassicly a civil war) .... couldn't they have begun a new duel earlier? that's one thing that don't make sense to me...😅 Can we kiss after the war? peoples are dying!🤣 The karathen is only for DC. it doesn't exist a legend of the karathen IRL. For the conclusion I really like this movie. And yes, it was one of DC most succesfull movie. The visuals are impressive (and not a little! ), the storyline...well , easy to guess to be honest but done well enough to not be boring at all. I may not like the "vulgar" aquaman but he does a very good job, making him more likeable than the original one, maybe just a little too much "happy ending for everyone" but that's ok. The bottles with the enigma is very strange too . and also the final battle doesn't make sense...for a king meant to unite his kingdom and stop war, bringing a huge monster to destroy the army and kill his soldier...that doesn't make sense and there's a lot of citizen killed through the story (not a great begining for a new rules)...but if those are the only real flaws (which are more details than anything), then it's a very good movie! (i know i'm not an expert either....) But for the rest, only compliment! mostly on the visuals and how much the costumes are accurate to the comics. mostly Black manta, Ocean master, Aquaman and even mera. I think this movie maybe the most accurate one I ever saw for an adaptation of comics book and without looking ridiculous!! that's the most impressive! making those costumes accurate without looking unpractical and ridiculous. (with Black Manta, it was a pretty big challenge to avoid being completly ridiculous...) Aquaman's actor name: Jason Momoa. he's from Maori origine. The mother is Nicole Kidman, she's very famous, but I don't remember a movie you reacted to with her. Do you recognize the father ? He was in Star wars. the bounty hunter in cool armour who gave his DNA to create the clone army in "Attack of the clones" (the one that lost his head 😉). For comics intell Aquaman (arthur Curry , yes that's his name)) well the movie is giving a good idea of him. Except for his appearance (he's blond with short hair ....and "whiter"...but that part is the best change in the movie for me). My big problem in the movie with Aquaman is his behaving. In comics, He's a king! not in titles only... he act like one. He's confident, pridefull and mostly respectuous! he act like any king in fiction would do. here, he feel very vulgar in comparison (it make more sense though, as he's not raised as nobility but by a lighthouse keeper... but the difference is huge). but most of the backstory is here and all of his power are here ( strengh, resistance (yes, to bullets! something about their skin thougher to endure ocean's pressure...😅), takling telephaticly with fish and command them, controlling the sea with his trident and so on). Well he's the "king of the seven seas" Meera In comics, she's aquaman's wife/queen. I don't know much of her than the movie is showing (and for the very little I saw of her in a cartoon), just that she's more of a magician than anyhting (like we see here) Atlanna Well, I know nothing of her at all, except for making Aquaman with a human to flee an arranged marriage. most of the comics I saw, she was already dead or is killed during the story without meeting aquaman. Orm /Ocean Master One of most common Aquaman's foe. to be honest, His appearance and overall characters (for the little I know) is very accurate. but I don't know enough outside the movie. Black Manta Well, I know even less about Black manta than Ocean's master. but for the little I know, all his backstory is here! (and yes, aquaman let the dad died...) But I love that they found a way to justify his huge eyes on his oversize helmet ! 😅😅 For Atlantis. (both comics and mainly mythlogical) the city was rich and powerfull. they began to see themselves more powerfull than the gods, Poseidon, god of the sea for the greeks, punish the city by making the island sink at the bottom of the ocean...in the comics, they used magic to allow their people to live under the sea (and some mutated in those half-fish half-man look). that's the idea. Now in mythology...ir doesn't exist !! 🤣 all of atlantis background come from the philosoph Plato who create the city as an analogy for Athens (mostly the city's elite social class) in a speech who where mostly political. But some took it for a true story...and it became legend !! (I know I had to reak the philosophical essai at school ! 😅). but honestly, the greek area is having lot of earthquake and volcanic activity, this is clearly possible that some city may truly have "fallen" into the ocean because of that. And Atlantis is not the only city like that. In france, (britanny to be precise) we have the city of Is. exactly the same idea. a powerfull city sunk into the ocean. As Tiên said at the end, many cities lost in the sea must have existed. Well, that was a lot to say. eager for the batman, but I hope you'll aslo do "SHAZAM"; it's the same cinematic universe. Thanks for the good times and have a beautifull day Angels.

I saw it only today too. For me the trench creature look too much like "Dagon" from Lovecraft's (not the Philistine God) to not be a direct reference. And the all trench scenes, look more like an horor movie and the portal to a different world like some "cosmics phenomena" to be also coincidential. even the Karathen with all those different part of sea creature who doesn't make sense feel more like a monster coming out of lovecraft's work than a normal mythological one. For the rest, I'm with you. Aquaman is clearly one of my least hero of dc in my top. but they made him so cool here. Momoa made me like aquaman a little more. (but when you know aquaman only from "Young justice" and "Injustice" and one animated movie, it's hard to really like him...)😅

Steven

The director here is James Wan, and he got his start in horror movies, specifically SAW. But, his big hit movies were THE CONJURING films which might make a good Halloween offering, but also SMILE and SMILE2 would be fun.

Hi Aqua Angels! 🧜‍♀️

Looney

Great reaction ladies. This is a really fun movie. Black Manta felt thrown into this movie just to have. He is a classic known enemy of Aquaman but he looked badass in this movie. And the bad guy "Ocean Master" is played by Patrick Wilson which to me is an amazing actor really known for The Conjuring movies. Arthur's dad is played by Temeura Morrison (aka Jango Fett from Star Wars Episode 2) The Trench scene was incredibly well done. It felt very H.P. Lovecraftian. The scene of Mera and Arthur swimming down and all the trench creatures swimming around is so creepy looking.

Seannie420

He “The first thing we do is start bombing “ . Great quote but you are familiar with America aren’t you ? Killing innocents is what we do best unfortunately

Michael Tucker

Also Michael Keaton is Batman 1989 appears in the Flash movie

This one's alright. And it's the, ONLY, DCEU film to earn 1B+ at the Worldwide Box Office (there were 15 DCEU films before it was cancelled). The MCU has 12 films which earned 1B+ to 2B+ at the Worldwide Box Office (there are currently 38 MCU films and counting).
