The condition Rem's body had is the repairing of her horn based on what we've seen in the past and how much she pushed herself (and her horn) back in the Sanctuary. We do see this later in the episode so I imagine that's it. The fact that there are so many mabeasts and miasma around the tower means that there's is a good likelihood of it having something to do with the Witches. Especially since the barkeep said that it's been 400 years since anyone has able to go to the tower. From previous seasons we know that the Witches were all alive 400 years ago, so it has to be connected. I didn't even think of using Ram's clairvoyance to see what the birds are seeing. That is a pretty smart idea. Glad she came with us, otherwise I don't think they could've made it. It's also clear to see that Ram is bleeding from her eye later in the episode because whoever's eyes she's looking through (that was focused on Subaru) seemingly is just that powerful that it's that taxing on her body. What crazy deaths these were, it's hard to even know what happened. It's like he got sniped out of nowhere. I'm glad Emilia and Rem were trusting enough of Subaru to listen to him on both time. Apparently when Subaru died with Beatrice crying over him, in the source material he apparently used his Unseen Hand to wipe her tears in his last moments, as he himself couldn't move anymore. They sadly had to cut that out to make the episode pacing better I guess. This was still really amazing and sad though. As much as I'd want Subaru not to suffer, it's interesting to see him die and overcome that outcome. Crazy to see him die twice in one episode after not dying (mostly) in season 3 though.
