TL;DR: Emily wins!And now, to explain why that is significant. To me, at least.So, back in December 2023 I was working in Customer Tech Support. It was miserable. To try and lift my spirits and maybe do something creative I downloaded DAZ and started playing around with it, that's when I came up with the first concept for "Actually Roommates" (yes, the title was slightly different).It wasn't going to be a lesbian VN, but a "straight" one with a dude that moves in with two girls and hijinks ensue. Obviously I started working on the girls first, which led us to the alpha version of "Violet" and "Emilia". Those versions were scrapped almost immediately as Emilia's stare scared the shit out of my friends, but Violet showed potential so I kept her and tried to improve her. While working on her I started to grow fond of Violet. It didn't help that I was playing Cyberpunk 2077 at the time so I was warming up to the idea of a kickass female protagonist.Then came the technical issues. I don't have an NVidia GPU and I didn't know how to work around that limitation at the time. This resulted in me deciding to pose scenes with DAZ, then exporting them to Blender for rendering. (you can't really tell the amount of photoshopping that was needed to fix all the clippings cause by blender in this render)This kinda worked, but Blender didn't really like dicks. The model for the male genitals would always detach from the main body and it was a pain in the ass to fix and never looked quite right.So, due to technical limitations that at the time I didn't know how to fix, I decided "no dicks" and AR changed.I was versed enough in sapphic culture due a frankly excessive amount of lesbian friends I had/have that I thought I could make it work. Plus, with this pivot, I could take advantage of my friend Luna, one of my best friends and a raging homosexual, to help me proofread my word soup.So the story was altered, the title worked even better ("OMG, they were roomates!"), and I got to work. I presented this render and the pitch to my friends, they told me to go for it and here we are.So yeah, the first ever render of Actual Roommates was MC and her half-mexican future girlfriend. Two weeks later I had a working prototype.Fast forward to now, and seeing people WANTING those two to be together is quite special for me, considering they are how the game started, and I hope I can make it live up to your (and my) expectations.
