Devlog #22: Episode of Cat & Chapter 6 (Patreon)

As usual, the first devlog of a new development cycle is free for everyone!The first thing we need to talk about is Episode of Cat. The game is essentially done. I only need to apply Luna's corrections, fix a couple of renders and maybe tweak a couple of things.As already promised, it'll be released on the 3rd of September for Roommate and above Members and on the 7th for Couch Surfers. It's going to be a short affair, about half an hour.Next, we got Patreon rewards!On Saturday, 14th of September, Roommates and above members will receive the first official set of 4k renders, featuring Alex, Emily, Sarah and Jessica! I'm so happy that I'm finally able to do these and it's always fun to make them, since they allow me to do things that I normally wouldn't for the game.And now, the game itself. Let's talk about Chapter 6. I've started working on it on Wednesday! (I had to come back from vacation, do Episode of Cat and then had to deal with some plumbing issues)You know the lyrics from that Florence and The Machine song? "It's always darkest before the dawn?" (Ok, actually was historian Thomas Fuller that came up with it, but still...)Well, this is going to be MC in her darkest moment. And I am a bit nervous about it.In the past I've taken out and rewritten scenes for being "too real" or "too upsetting", but here we are talking about a necessary small narrative arc: the hero gets beaten down and is about to give up.Now, let's be real, obviously the hero is going to "win" in the end (there's 2 more chapters after this and an harem ending ffs).Thanos gets beaten, the Ring gets thrown in the volcano, Goku beats Kid Buu and everyone gets resurrected. I'm not gonna pull the rug from under you.However, to get there and make it have meaning, there's going to be setbacks.I know you all subbed to see a comedy about lesbians, but, for the story to make sense and the finale to be as stupidly over the top as I want it to be, I need to show MC and her allies/friends/girlfriends at their lowest.There'll still be lesbians doing lesbian things, maybe a bit fewer punchlines and a tiny bit less cat(you got a whole episode of him, you'll be okay).So, here's the deal: I'll keep it short, I'll give you a gut-punch, then resolve it with a hopeful and happy moment. We can all pull through this together and look forward to Chapter 7 and its planned 12 sex scenes (I'm gonna fucking regret announcing it, I already know).Also, I can now do motion effects within DAZ! See you next week for the Episode of Cat release!
