Devlog #30: Cityscapes and Furniture (Patreon)

Work on Chapter 8 part 1 has started, so you know what that means? PUBLIC DEVLOG! FREE FOR EVERYONE! Since we got a lot of new free followers in this past week, let me catch everyone up to speed with what is going on here before I dive right in.Every time I start working on a new chapter I release one of these devlog for free (I do them every week for the paid tiers) to give everyone a general sense of what the new chapter will be, how long it'll take, etc...I also sprinkle in a few test renders and/or teasers.So, Chapter 8 part 1, basically everything until the endings. Why January? (mid-to-late January, to be specific)Well, multiple reasons (and explaining them is a good way to give achieve the goals mentioned above!):- Reason 1: I'm mad.Originally (waaaay back when I plotted out the story) this update was going to be a bit shorter than normal and be a full on story update. Then a secret path got added and THEN I felt bad shipping an update without sex scenes. So there's gonna be lewds. One freebie and one for each girl if you are set up for her solo ending. These will be a bit shorter than usual, 'cause it'll be less "fucking" and more "making love".- Reason 2: your fault for liking my stuff!Over the Summer and Fall this page has grown quite a bit and this allowed me to, first, get a new PC to work on the game and, now, to improve my quality of life a bit. I got new furniture for my bedroom and office so now I'll have a real bed and not just a mattress on the floor!This means that I'll have to take down what furniture I have currently in here, paint the room and then assemble the new stuff. This will take me a bit of time (I'm hoping no more than a week to do everything) and I don't know if I'll have the energy to do that during the day then work in the evening.- Reason 3: are you seeing this shit?When I got the new PC I went from an attitude of "this is good enough" to "I wanna make it look as good as possible". I'm picking up the pace since now I know what to do to get the result I want (most of the time), but it's still a lenghty process. I'm not taking shortcuts, I want these final updates to be the best they can be.- Reason 4: the freaking Legend pathIf you don't know what I mean by "Legend" path, let me explain in brief: if you followed a specific set of extremely arbitrary choices during the game, you can access a secret choice for the Finale and get the Legend ending.This was not planned until a few months back, I don't like it, I hate the way I have to bend the story for it, I don't wanna do it, but it will fullfill a certain request that a lot of people have been clamoring for. I won't go into more details than this.This has the potential of losing me a lot of time for nothing, 'cause I'm going to say it loud and clear: if it doesn't come out good, I'm cutting it.Reason 5: ChristmasYeah, there's holydays in the middle of all of this. I don't particularly care for them, but family does so I'll be forced to leave my chair and visit various relatives.I'll try to make some festive renders for the Roommate and House Cat tiers in the next couple of weeks. I'm kinda itching for doing some standalone renders.Right now I'm keeping the steady pace of 40-45 renders per day, let's see how long it'll last...See y'all next week!
