Devlog #35: Catloaves and if statements (Patreon)

If you're wondering why I didn't post this yesterday and you aren't on discord, I was at a funeral and came home late. I don't really want to talk about it, so let's talk about funny lesbians!A lot got done in this past week: the renders are done (mostly, more on that later) with a final total of 1116, making this the biggest update so far by render count.That last bit is a necessary distinction 'cause a "normal" playthrough will probably see a third of them, for two reasons:- This time the two storylines have almost no overlap, though a few renders get reused between them.- Aside from the first one all sex scenes are tied to the girls' solo paths and "in theory" can only be seen by playing for a solo ending."But what if I want to see ALL THE SEX SCENES but I don't have the time to replay the chapter multiple times?"Well, hypotethical player, if you have the walkthrough activated you'll be able to "cheat" and see them all while on a harem playthrough, though doing this will lock you out of the secret ending.Indeed yes, there is in fact a secret ending, one that allows for both sisters to be romanced at the same time. This is going to require some quite specific choices throughout the game and can only be accessed by a playthrough that started from the beginning (so no chapter select shenanigans).And no, I will not say what those choices are and everyone who asks will receive a shrug emoji (and if I can't use a shrug emoji I'll just type "who knows?".So, what's left to do?Coding and finishing the script, basically. I've already gotten quite a bit of coding done in these past couple of days, despite the less then ideal IRL circumstances, with 7 of the 9 sex scenes already done (those are usually the ones that take the most time).Ideally I'll be able to finish on Tuesday to send it to Luna for proofreading while I code the gallery and playtest.Also still needed are 12(11? I don't remember) renders. These will be the teasers for the endings.Last time I've hinted at the update ending on a cliffhanger (shocking, I know) and those little teasers will be a way to say "relax, everything's gonna be okay, I'm not going to pull the rug from under you". The release date is penciled in for the 25th. I'm sorry that this is taking longer than usual, but it's a big, important update and I want to do it right.See you next week, hopefully for the release of Chapter 8 Part 1.
