Devlog #36: The Final Stretch (Patreon)

This will most likely be the last public devlog for Actual Roommates (unless something goes catastrophically wrong), so let's make the most out of this! Let's talk endings:I think I've come up with a good way to make every solo ending feel different, while still maintaining some sort of narrative throughline between them.Instead of just showing a slideshow of events with different girls copy-pasted in and out, every ending will show a different moment of the future of MC and her girl. For example, in Stella's ending we see the adoption of Valerie, in Sarah's we see the wedding, in Jessica we meet the in-laws, etc...This will make every solo ending a self contained little story and not have it be "the same thing, but with different girl."Also every ending's got its own sex scene. Because obviously.For the harem endings... I'll cross that bridge when I get there xD.I'm gonna need to find a good way to get some "content" in it without ballooning the render count to some absurd number.Then will come "the bridge".The hell is "the bridge", you ask? Well, it's the thing that will tie Actual Roommates 1 to Actual Roommates 2. The passing of the torch moment between one MC to the other.Once everything will be written and rendered (I'm actually testing out a new way of organizing things while working that should hopefully make coding easier and less prone to mistakes) there's still some things I wanna do before wrapping everything up.I want to go through the game with a fine-tooth comb to fix every typo and spelling error (thanks again to Raven for their help and you are all invited to help out by notifying me of any mistake you find in the dedicated Discord channel), I want to find a way to incorporate Episode of Cat inside the main game and I want to redo the older gallery background images 'cause they look grainy as fuck.And, in all of that, we are like 10 days away from the first anniversary of the game. I've got something in mind to celebrate (nothing big, I think you'd all prefer having the update come out in a timely fashion over some bonus stuff), so stay tuned for that!But what is this "timely fashion"? Honestly? I have no idea! The plan is to publish by the end of March, but this is the final update and I want to do things right, so I won't be rushing anything 'cause I want to deliver you the best possible experience I can give you, but still I don't wanna make you wait longer than you have come to expect from me... ...also my birthday gift from my parents was a big case of White Monster, so I'll either give you this update in record time or I'll fucking die of a heart attack.
