Devlog #42: Harems and "else:" (Patreon)

...yeah, I'm officially moving these to Saturday. This might be the last devlog of Actual Roommates... I don't know how I feel about it. My brain still hasn't fully processed that I'm almost done with the game.Earlier this week I finished rendering all 1400+ images and started coding the game on Tuesday. As of the time of writing all the solo endings and one of the harem ones are fully coded, leaving only the last two harem endings.I severely underestimated how long the Dream and Dragons ending would take to code. Having to take into account who's present in what renders and what scenes are available because of it lead to a wall of "if" and "else" statements that, of course, weren't implemented properly on the first go and needed correcting... multiple times.I was planning on being already done with those two endings, but I barely just managed to finish the Dream one, meaning that to achieve my goal I'll need to code the equivalent of Chapter 2 in 2 days! But what's this goal? Glad you asked!I'm going to (tentatively) announce that I'll be releasing the Finale for House Cats, Cooler Cats and Roommates next weekend (Sunday 30th at the latest).Honestly, I did not plan for this update to be this big. Things kinda got out of hand when I decided that the Dream and Dragons endings would only share like a handful of renders and not most of them like I had originally planned. So, if I can finish coding on Monday and Luna is back in good health (send your energy to the poor girl that overworked herself to the bones last week) I'll give you an official announcement some time next week!I hope that you'll enjoy what I've been cooking for the final update and that you'll continue to support these little projects full of silly lesbians and talking cats!
