Back in the swing of things!Getting back to work has been surprisingly easy. Ideas and renders are flowing, keeping a steady, healthy pace of 35 renders per day.

Specifically, I'm close to finishing Day 1 of the update and tweaked it a bit from the original draft.Pacing felt a bit off, so I'm gonna sneak in some lewds and some text messages to flesh out a couple of things. Also I've cut out some cutaway gags that were already written, again for pacing reasons.Cutaway gags are a powerful tool, but needs moderation and I was overdoing it the beginning of this chapter. I don't wanna end up doing the mistake Family Guy made by being overly reliant on it, so I only kept a couple, the ones that made more sense(though not necessarily the most funny). Also also, I'm experimenting a bit with flashbacks.Things other VNs/other medias do, like instead of having a character talk forever just SHOW what they were going to talk about or show a snippet of the past of a character to inform the scene that follows.Simple things, a bit time consuming 'cause they need completely new scenes to be made, but still relatively simple. It's a bit of a stylistic shift from how I did things in AR1, but we'll see how you, the players, will receive them. Worst case scenario I'll just stop doing them. So, yeah... I feel like I've started rambling earlier than usual, so it's better if I cut this short and get back to rendering.Have a Faith selfie and I'll see y'all next week

Flashback can be very effective indeed to give context, explain things... As with cutaway gag, I think the challenge is to find the good ratio. Too much of them could kill the story. Well, unless you are recreating Memento :-) Also, having a visual clue that the scene is a flashback. Sometime, in VN or movie, there are scene I don't immediately identified as flashback. And it's more confusing than helping with the story. And you can ramble every devlog if that means some hot selfies ;-)
