As I mentioned in the latest devlog, I'm here to poll you all! But first, let me explain where we're at.

Currently the render count is at 825 with about 20-ish more to go. Annie's date is done and all that's missing is the last couple of alternative short scenes in case you're not on her path. What SHOULD happen next is a bit college life, plot development and setups for the big party, then the party itself. So, if I were to split things, the first part of this update would be the "mom catch-up", some living path specific scenes and Annie's date, with 5 total sex scenes (1 for each living path + Annie's scene). This means that if you play every path (or use the Cheat option) you have a good chunk of things, but if you only do 1 playthrough it's not that long of an update.

What happens if I split:Next week I start coding and the update gets to you in early April. I can then not only take my time with the party, but also take the time to try and fix the barely functional code that right now keeps things together with duct tape and prayers so that people stop getting "phantom" choices or outright soft-lock themselves 'cause they saved at worst possible moment. What happens if I don't split:I just keep going until everything is done. You'll have to wait until probably late April-early May to have something to play. I will lose subs due a month of no releases, but that is not your problem and "insert that Miyamoto quote about games being delayed".I'm sorry if this will ruffle some feathers, but I want this shit to be good so I'm not going to rush things (more than usual). So, cast your votes! Remember, this is not a democracy. I just want to know what the subs opinions are!(Poll will run until Sunday)

This is in "Development". I am all for the Dev getting their real feel for their vision. Either way, but, I wouldn't split.

I'll be playing it through multiple times anyway so I say release it now, then take your time over the next bit. Better NOT to rush anything, but since you've got a substantial amount of stuff done already, I say release the first half that's longer for Annie fans now, and shorter for those who don't wanna date her, then the second half which will presumably be shorter for the Annie fans and longer for the heretics who didn't ask her out. The non-fans can always just skip an update and get two-for-one with the next release, right?

Im torn looking forward to new content and getting more content... Both work for me.

While I’m a bit torn, I’d rather wait for a full chapter than a split release. In the meantime, I’ll just do another playthrough, because why not? It’s that good. Replaying also helps me catch things I missed before. For example, when Violet first meets her new roommates and when Valerie meets her dormmates are almost identical scenes. I didn’t notice that on my first playthroughs, but when I started Actual Roommates again, it really stood out. Take your time, I know I'll have a better experience because of it.

Sounds like you've made up your mind, but if you aren't comfortable fixing things without the extra time splitting the chapter will afford, I'm all for giving us morsels at a time. My choice would be to take your time, fix everything needing fixing and finish the chapter to your satisfaction; but as you said, I don't have to deal with the repercussions.

If I recall, Annie's date was origonaly going to be the end of the previous update, so spliting it now doesn't seem too strange, more like getting back on-track mabey? Plus the party sounds like it could be a lot of content, so having it be its own thing might not be the worst idea.

CGM Odyssey

Don't split the update, fix everything that needs fixing and take your time with the chapter so everything is ready for release,i'm happy to wait,i'll stay subscribed either way

Two points: - If you don't split, does it mean that the duct tape won't be dealt with at all? - The size of the release N matters primarily in terms of how much time you'll have while working on the N+1 chunk. Adopting a tighter release cycle will essentially leave you with very little wiggle room if anything unexpected happens, and the next release is delayed. On the other hand, clients tend to be more happy with more frequents updates (but not too frequent, yeah). Up to you, really.

One month delay is really not that bad. I've seen much worse from other devs. Take your time and finish things up properly.
