Hi everyone, here's your announcement!

As patrons will have seen in the author notes of the most recent chapter, Amelia Thornheart Book 1 is now available for pre-order! After traversing a stressful seven hells of terrible automated identity verification systems (cough, Amazon, cough) and filling out too many tax forms, Book One is set to be released on the 5th of September!

You can preorder it on the following platforms:

Amazon | Apple | Kobo | Barnes & Noble | Fable | Smashwords | Thalia | Vivlio | Bookshop

(P.S Highlords and Greatlords will get it for free on release day!)

I never thought I would get this far, and I took the hard way; I turned down a contract offer in 2025 that would have seen the ebooks/audiobooks produced for me. Unfortunately, that would have come at the cost of stubbing the series, loss of creative control, and a fraction of the royalties I would otherwise get. Instead, I did it my way! Book One is a refinement of the first 146k (34 chapters) of the series. It has been:

Edited by me.

Then delivered to a professional editor I hired for initial formatting and copyediting.

Then gone through the eagle eyes of three community members (CelestialDoggie, Olli, Nightshade), who have professionally proofread it.

Then formatted into a proper EPUB format.

Of course, I'm sure some typos/mistakes slipped through, but we'll deal with them as they are found ^.^

Book One also includes some renders of the Vengeance, modelled and arranged beautifully by Yume. In the coming days, I'll update the wallpapers free/paid with them. For now, here's a sneak peek of the awesomeness Yume has come up with:

In the spirit of the upcoming launch, I'm hoping to accelerate my writing from now on. I really want to get back into 8+ chapters a month. (Don't forget to catch me on Twitch where I stream my work!) After all, more chappies = more author notes to shill in! When we release on the 5th, I'll also give people a Serena-style sword poke and ask kindly for a review on whatever platform the lovely reader has purchased the book on!

I'm very nervous, and even a few early reviews could make a huge difference!

Thank you all for the support you've given me, letting me enter this new wonderful career of following Amelia around writing fantastical stories! We've come so far on the journey, and there are so many more shenanigan-filled steps to take!

As always,

Till next time!

Nice, good work on book. Hmmm, i am going to upgrade to highlord. I have been enjoying this story for while, and this seems like good time to do so.

Keene

Woo! Thank you :) You're the first to fall into my Highlord trap baited with Book One crumbs ^.^ Thank you for the support; it's an honour!

Sigh. I really should sit my ass down and write a review of Amelia Thornheart. The thing is, despite enjoying and reviewing lots of web fiction, I had been avoiding LitRPG for one simple reason: I AM NOT A GAMER! The LitRPGs I had initially encountered assumed you had played the game it used for its universe. Bleh. Now, I truly love fanfics. I've even written a couple novels myself, set in the ST:TNG universe. Which meant I watched TV rather than played games. Then a friend sent me a link to a RavensDagger book with the note, "Yes, I know you're not a gamer. Read this LitRPG anyway." I was hooked. That was 5 years ago, and I believe it was a RavensDagger mention that brought me to Amelia Thornheart. Why no reviews? I felt I didn't have enough of a grasp on the LitRPG genre to be able to write a review that would appeal to folks no matter if they had experience with LitRPG or not. But good writing is good writing, no matter the genre. Especially when it blurs or expands the genre from its origins. Amelia Thornheart is good writing! That said, there is one thing I'm so glad has diminished as the chapters went on: Amelia's habit of puffing out her cheeks annoyed me beyond measure. I've never seen anyone older than a kindergartner do that with any regularity, and here we had a presumably adult human doing it with nearly every breath. Arrrgh! No, this is not a review. But when I do write one, I'm thinking of leading with the cheek-puffing.

That’s fantastic news, and congratulations on getting past the line and surviving all the various hurdles and taxation form nuisances! Looking forward to it coming out and reading it all again. 🥰

Bast

Congrats! :D Looking forward to read the full book!

SleepyKitten

Congrats keene! I'll definitely read the book when it comes out. Be quite interested to see the finished version and how much better it is than what I've read so far! ^^

huge congratulations!

Sylux

Congrats! I am happy to see this. It is an amazing piece of work you created! And I think the next tier looks mighty juicy right now ^^.

So this isn’t being stubbed?

Knight Owl

I guess I'm another victim of your marketing trap then :)

Knight Owl

Congratulations! Will highlords receive the book on one of the platforms above or directly via patreon?

Keene

It'll either be a downloadable attachment to a Patreon post which only Highlords+ can see, or I'll find a way to create one-download links and message each Highlord+ through Patreon with their link.

Keene

Hehe, thank you :) Nothing like a juicy Highlord! (that sounds weird)

Keene

huge thank you! ^.^

Keene

Hehe, thank you, and thanks for your support! I hope you like it! :)

Keene

Woo! Thank you, for all the support up til now ^.^ More to come!

Keene

Thank you :) It's a delicious meal the second time around, I assure you!

In Book One, I've actually changed the puffing cheeks moments (there were about 5 I think in the first 35 chapters) and changed them to some other action, like tutting or placing hands on hips. Amelia was a *little* too much of a stereotype right away, and I think maturing her slightly will help set up her future scientific discoveries ^.^ I've got a lot of readers through RavensDagger; he's been a huge help in getting Amelia's readership solidified. Thank you for your support! In these stages, every review really helps :)

Keene

Another one! hehe Now I just need a Jimari-flavoured Greatlord trap! (although I imagine I'd trap Finella before any patrons!)

An Amelia review is also made more difficult by the care given to supposedly "minor" characters, and the equal care given to worldbuilding. Remove Amelia and Serena, and you'd still have the makings for a terrific tale! How the heck can I write about that in a way that gives folks a feel for what I mean? I'm currently reading about a dozen books on the various web fiction sites, and another thing I like about Amelia Thornheart is how smooth and natural the POV shifts feel. In comparison, some fics seem to bounce POV every paragraph or so. Waugh! Like I said, reading more lets me see more to identify in a review. Will it ever end? 🤪

Sylux

Juicy 🤤. 😂

I'm really glad, that you are not exclusively selling on Amazon!
