A lot of people asked for the recipe from our recent cooking short, so Hai wrote down everything he used to make it! Just a heads-up β he usually cooks without measuring, so feel free to adjust the amounts to your taste. π
Ingredients: (Serves Two People) π
2 salmon fillets (400g)
Asparagus
Salt and pepper
2 cloves of garlic, minced (optional, for garlic lovers)
20g fresh dill
1 tsp orange zest
180ml fresh orange juice
1 tbsp honey or sugar
2 tsp cornstarch (for thickening the sauce)
Rice (you can prepare it as you normally do, as a side, if you'd like)
Instructions: π§βπ³
Step 1: Season the salmon fillets with salt and pepper. Heat a pan over medium heat, then sear the salmon until golden on both sides. Be careful not to overcook the salmon, aim for medium doneness to avoid dryness.
Step 2: Add minced garlic to the same pan and sautΓ© for about 10 seconds until fragrant. Add 20ml of water and simmer gently until reduced by half. Then add orange zest, orange juice, and honey.
Step 3: Dissolve the cornstarch in 1 tablespoon of water. Pour the mixture back into the pan. Season with salt and pepper, and bring to a boil for 1 minute to thicken the sauce.
Step 4: Return the salmon to the pan and spoon the sauce over the fillets.
Finally, stir-fry some asparagus until just cooked and serve it with the salmon. We choose to enjoy our salmon with rice, too.
This orange herb-glazed salmon is best enjoyed freshly made and hot. πππ
