The Art of Stinky Dragon (Patreon)

This is Jon - Head of Bad Accents and Director of Design & E-commerce at Stinky Dragon, the show parents use to get their kids to be quiet in the car.

We make a lot of cool art around here - and when I say “we”, that includes the people we’ve found from our community and beyond who create awesome designs and imagery for our store and shows. Sure, some of our designs are from me, but I’m old and never was that good at drawing; so I prefer to hire much more talented people than myself to make us look good. We would love to tell you about one of them today!

More Than An Animator

Featuring Susie Combs

Susie is not only our lead animator, she’s also started to work on some merchandise designs for me with her very recognizable and beautiful art style.

The Tolv In The Mirror

Blaine had an idea of a design that showed off what Tolv really sees when looking at his own reflection. The result was this design by Susie that started off with a couple of simple sketch drafts and ended with something straight out of Nordic myth. (The image below has been modified to avoid spoilers.)

Fun Fact: All the designs below can be purchased at our store and if purchased, you support us in paying more artists like us!

Conjure Magnetic Animals

Susie originally created these images for our Patreon tiers, but we loved the art so much, we had to have them as magnets for our fridge. You can grab them now - either because you love hamsters or because you wanna rep your Patreon tier at home.

A Gum Gum You Can Hug

Chris requested a blanket, that when wrapped around someone, could look like Gum Gum was giving them a hug. So I asked Susie for a giant, welcoming image of Galindor reaching out for an embrace and she supplied the centerpiece of everyone's favorite new flower wizard themed blanket. And yes, I can confirm the blanket is very soft to the touch.

For more of Susie's work, be sure to always watch the latest animated shorts on our social media, YouTube channel and here on Patreon.

We love Susie's work and we hope you do too.
