Gus, Jon, and Chris talk about mastering skills, where Jon's life went wrong, Chris' sourcing of coffee flavors, the making of a combat sandwich, Indiana Jones and the Mote of Hell, Jon's drawn map of the Dretch Battlefield, how Gus implemented the countdown timer in the battle, why Gus' love of MUD games forces him to use notepad for initiative, and digging into each of the wanderer's found in the maze.

Why did I have the same answer as Chris?? Lol

If there's Morlocks, maybe we'll be saved by Wishbone. We can only hope

Jon Risinger

Thank you, maybe I'll frame it

Dino Bacani

I helped my roommate code a MUD in university. My wife and I met and "dated" on a MUD. I wonder if we played the same MUD with Gus at some point.

Magnus DMighty

I was about to say that dretches where real when gus said it thank you gus for not making me look stupid

Brandon Brashars

Thank you for releasing new content as other podcasters are releasing “Best of” content!

I assumed the horn was a sort of horn you could blow into. I’m thinking that was barbs thought process too.

Only Note, Chris and Gus say this is the second use of Mote of Hell, it's actually the third. There was the original with the pirates pit (let's not be doing that again...) there was a use at the underwater place before they saved The Sea Drinker, and this recent time against the wanderers in the card game. Just pointing out the things...

Patience is a virtue and it's the hardest one to have. You're doing great hang in there!

Btw otamatone are eighth notes

Blurble Gurble. I have met both Gus and Chris at least once each IRL. Once is not enough :-)

hallball (killhall021)

I have recently just rewatched the movie Idiocracy, they are shockingly getting their to the point of technology-based and lyrically based of that move which is sad and horrifying

Damon R.

I too tried the For In Store Pickup trick. My results were the same as Gus's. :(

Andrew Barber

I always thought of muds as mmo Zork. Not sure if Gus is old enough for that reference, but I would guess he knows.

Paige Keyman

Love to see the initiative, Jon! You tell the people, who is here and why!!! On a side note, I would love to fill this space professionally for ya 😂

Julia & Piney

Honestly, id love to hear y'all just go on about ~80s and 90s tech. That sounds really facinating and nostalgic (from a younger millennial)

Sadie

The real auto harp is the friends we made along the way

Chris has me laughing out loud in the grocery store with his making it rain comment and his commitment to his dream of being a stock trader.

Psydon

Blrrble Grrble! Im surprised you guys haven't tried 3rd party programs like the AboveVTT for maps and combat tracking. Its not perfect, but I find it pretty handy to run my game.

The only good things about my ex is that they introduced me to Rooster Teeth and were obsessed with Star Trek; to where I absorbed a lot of Trek lore in the 8-ish years we were together. The thing that people who don't have a deep Trek knowledge (and my partially eidetic memory) know is that from 2049-2053 Earth was undergoing a Turbulent Eugenics War (See season 2 of Picard and select episodes from the various shows). 2063 is the year Humans/Earth achieved Warp technology (see First Contact). It wasn't until 2161 that the United Federation of Planets was founded. Hell the replicators we all associate with Star Trek weren't fully developed until the 2300s (early iterations are in Enterprise and the Original Series) and widely used until the 24th Century (The Next Generation timeline). So if we pace ourselves by Star Trek's timeline, we're currently in the preamble of the Eugenics War. That's either depressing/pessimistic or optimistic considering the end result, you decide. And, for clarity, I was not saying Jon doesn't have deep Trek knowledge, he has stated that his memory storage is reserved for X-Men and Pokémon. To which I applaud, those are both things I enjoy and wish I had more obscure knowledge of.

I really recommend roll20. You can have the characters and their hp and literally just go -x and it'll do the math for you. Plus you can add conditions

I learned patience by fishing. Haven't fished in awhile so it's probably why I'm slowly losing it.

Valic Vacosties

Man the number of hours I poured into Realms of Despair MUD back in the day 🤣

Sir Quackalot

Well day trading is just making an educated guess
